Chapter8

Brandon and Kahlan road to school the next morning talking and having a good time. Once in the parking lot Brandon got quiet.

"What is wrong Brandon?" Kahlan took hold of his hand. Brandon kissed her hand then said.

"Maybe we should keep our relationship on the DL for now."

"Ah why?" She felt her heart ache.

"Till we are comfortable with one another." He said.

"You're ashamed to be dating me aren't you?" Kahlan asked

"No Kay I just want us to be sure is all." He leaned over and kissed her forehead. "Come hang out with the boys."

"That okay I have to go to the office." She got out of the car and walked away from him.

Brandon huffed and sat in his car why did he say that to her is he really that shallow. To kiss her where no one is around then to tell her to keep it secret. There was a tipping on his window and he looked up to see Missy at his door he open the car door.

"What do you want Missy?" He asked as he leaned on his truck.

"So I hear your parents will be out of town this weekend." She smiled and pulled at her cheerleading uniform.

"Your point?" he asked

"Party at your place then?" she asked

"I'll ask my parents, I'll tell you tomorrow." He walked to his friends and hung out till the bell

Missy ran around and told as many people she could that Brandon was having a party Saturday night. Once she was done she took Cody's hand.

"What you asked is now done time for you to pay up." Missy said pulling him in the bathroom.

"This will be fun." He pushed her against the wall and had his way with her.

Kahlan didn't talk to Brandon unless she had to. And Brandon missed the lovely girl he kissed that morning he cursed himself every time she wouldn't speak or touch him.

Once they were in his car after project talk with Cody her turned to her.

"Talk to me Kahlan." He said

"About what?" she looked ahead. "You going to drive we still have school work to do."

"What wrong?" He started his truck and pulled out of the parking lot.

She huffed and looked at him. "How can you even as me that?"

"Ask you what wrong?" he turned down an old dirt road that lead to the lake.

"You are what wrong with me." She looked out the window. "Where are we going?"

"Just shut up honor roll." He was infuriated and wanted to punch something "Please just put the Shut to the up." Once at the lake he stopped the truck and climbed out she fallowed.

"Why are you mad I'm the one who should be mad?" She stood right next to him. "Your the shallow one." It happened so fast she had never seen anyone move so fast it scared her. He pinned her to the nearby tree.

"I'm not shallow I'm trying to keep you safe." He looked at her with desperate eyes.

"From what?" she asked

"From all the bubbly headed bitches who will try to ruin you." He said. "They are all trying to get to me and once we are out they will do anything to break us up, Lie Cheat anything."

"If you haven't noticed I'm not some shy bookworm any one messes with me I will knock their head off. That is what softball bats are used for." She laughed then felt his grip loosen.

"God I have missed you all day." His lips caught hers and he pulled her against him her taste seeped into his mouth and he sighed. She kissed back and whimpered when he pulled away. "For give me baby."

"All is for give Meat head." She kissed his neck the sun hung low in the sky and the slipped back into his truck and went home to eat dinner. Once dinner was over Brandon asked his dad about the party.

"Sure son just keep it low key okay?" Peter said and stood.

"Thank oh dad what would you say if I told you I was dating Kahlan." Brandon looked to his hand.

"I'd say about time." He walked out of the room and Brandon walked to the guest house to find Kahlan on the phone. So he stood and listened to her.

"No I can't I won't Rico." She paused and sighed "So what I like him and he likes me." Pause "No we are not doing anything we just kiss." Pause "Yes they are fading." Pause "I know I got a call from them today they say he will be away for a long time." Pause "Have they found her?" Pause "She left us why would she care?" Pause "Okay I love you kiss my niece for me Rico I miss her." Pause "see you soon." Once she hung up the phone she groaned then said. "Just come in here I know you are there."

"You have a niece?" he walked in and asked

"Yes Rico knocked up his soon to be wife when she was seventeen." Kahlan looked at him then patted the spot next to her.

"That ah cool." He sat next to her then pulled her into his lap. "I told my dad about us." She smiled at him. "So I guess tomorrow we make it official?"

"Really?" she almost jumped out of his lap.

"Yes I want the whole world to know that you're my girlfriend." He kissed her neck then she met his lips. The held one another and sheared sweet lovely kisses and then he held her till she fall asleep. He didn't want to wake her so he lay with her on the couch and fell asleep.
