The lunch bell rang, and I was on my way to Algebra 2. I hadn't met anybody yesterday, and hopefully today I will. As of right now, I don't know anybody at all in my grade. Luke and Calum are juniors, Michael and Sapphire are seniors, and I'm not sure what grade Haley is in.
I walked into the Algebra 2 classroom, to see three girls already in there. One girl with dark red hair, one girl who I was pretty sure was Jade, and a girl wih brown hair that faded into pink. I walked closer to them, and noticed Jade and the red head were basically taunting her.
"Just because you have cute hair doesn't make your cute, dumbass." Jade spoke.
"Go away." The girl with the pink hair responded.
"You don't tell me or Jade what to do. Is that understood?" The red-head spoke.
I stepped into their conversation.
"She can talk to you however she wants. You don't control her." I spoke while sitting in the seat next to her. "I'm Miami." The pink-haired girl smiled brightly at me.
"I'm Lexi." She replied with a smile.
"Oh, well if it isn't little Miss America again? Why are you so obsessed with me?" Jade spoke.
"Nobody is obsessed with you. Calm your tits, damn." I said.
"Who do you think you are? You freaking moved here from America yesterday, and you're already acting like you run this school. But, I've told you before, and I will be pleased to tell you again. I run this school." Jade said while leaning closer to me.
"I don't care. I don't want to run this school. What? Just because I moved here yesterday doesn't mean I can't stand up for myself or someone else." I said.
"I don't like your attitude." Jade said while putting her hands on her hips.
"I don't like you." I replied, Lexi snickering in the back.
"Stop talking to my best friend like that." The red-headed demanded.
"Then tell you're 'so called best friend' to stop bitching around and acting like she's the boss of me and that she's better than everyone." I scoffed.
"You obviously don't know who I am." She said while crossing her arms over her chest.
"Thank fucking god, for that too." I retorted.
"I'm Savannah Taylors." She replied.
"Cograts." I said emotionless.
"I swear to God--"
"Good afternoon class! Please take your seats." The teacher interrupted. Jade and Savannah groaned and walked over to their desks.
"Okay class, today we are going to go into more detail about the slope-intercept form." Mrs.Campbell started. I zoned out and pulled out a piece of notebook paper to doodle on.
I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder. I jumped and turned around to be met with Lexi. She giggled and handed me a peice of folded up notebook paper.
I opened it to find a note that read:
Thanks for standing up for me. Nobody has ever done that before. It really means a lot. Text me if you ever need a friend, or just someone to talk to.
It was signed with her name and her number on the bottom. I smiled and pulled out my phone to add her number.
We passed notes for the rest of class until the bell rang. Once it finally did, I was on my way to Biology.
I sat in the back of the classroom remembering I still hadn't made any friends in this class yet. I groaned and stared straight ahead, waiting for the teacher to begin her instructing.
