"So, you and Miami, huh?" Calum nudged my shoulder as we got to Michael's house after school. We decided to come home with him so it's be easier to help with the party.
"So, you and Lexi, huh?" I mocked.
"That's completely different." Calum snickered.
"And how the fuck is that?"
"Because, I admit to liking Lexi. You still haven't admitted that you like Miami." Calum rambled.
"Yeah, okay, maybe I do like Miami, a little bit..." I blushed.
"Do you think she's the one you'll always be in love with for like..ever?" Ashton laughed as he joined us. He has a key to Michael's and was already here when we got here.
"How am I supposed to know that?!" I exclaimed. I'm a junior! I don't know who's the 'one' yet!
"You just...do." Ashton shrugged.
"I'm like 500% positive Haley is the one that I'll be in love with the rest of my life." Michael said.
"Same, except with Sapphire." Ashton nodded.
"Oh really? When did you figure that out?" I asked.
"It just hits you. Like I was with Sapphire on a date. We were at Woodland Park at about 11 in the morning. I had stayed the night at her house the night before, and we still hadn't gone to bed yet. We were up all night talking, drinking, and just enjoying each others company. We were sitting in the field looking at all the different flowers in the garden. She went on and on about how much she loved roses, and simply because she loved the name Rose. Her exact words were, 'The name Rose just sticks out to me like a thorn.' She understood how much she truly loved the name when her obsession with the delicate flowers came to realization, and how much she fan-girled over Rose from Titanic, which is also her favorite movie. She explained how her dad used to always take her out to that exact park and help her pick out some roses, lilies and daisies and how he would always say, 'You may be as crazy as a daisy, or as silly as a lily, but you'll always be my beautiful rose.' Her gray eyes were shining as a light blue in the morning sun as the lit up when she continued telling stories about her childhood and roses. She just looked too perfect, pure and simply irresistible. I knew in that moment, I was gonna fall really hard for her. For those gray eyes that lit up when she talked about a simple flower. I knew I'd probably end up getting hurt, but I didn't even care. I was so down. Still to this day, I'm down for it. Especially when I see a rose at the store and think of her smile or her eyes light up when she talks about something else she loves. The best part is how her eyes light up when she talks about me, too." He finished his story by flashing his famous, award-winning smile.
"It seems that your eyes light up when you tell that story," Calum remarked.
"Eyes always light up when you talk about something you love." I smiled while looking down at my hands.
"Like I said, I love her, and I will until I'm six feet in the ground." Ashton smirked.
"My moment with Haley was the third time we snuck out together. She called me at about 2 in the morning saying that her parents were screaming and fighting, and the she couldn't take it. She kept saying she just needed an escape. I acted like I was barely listening and that I didn't really care, but what she didn't know, was that as soon as she started crying, I hopped in my truck and was on my way to her house. She was rambling about why her mom was so mad at her dad, when I tapped on her window. Her face lit up and she crawled out the window and met with me. She hugged me and pecked my lips and we just drove around the town. We ended up stopping at an abandoned barn we saw on a farm. We got on the roof and just talked for hours. She was freezing, so I gave her my hoodie. I remember we even shared a joint up there. Then, when we got back in my truck, she looked at me and she just looked so perfect and beautiful, I knew that I was gonna love her for the rest of my life. The way her eyes sparkled in the moonlight with her cute little smile, just immediately made me weak in the knees. There was no stopping it. All it took was seeing her vulnerable face while I took care of her, and BAM! I was already in deep. I guess you could say what Ashton did. 'I knew I'd get hurt, but I didn't even care. I was so down.' I'm still so down." Michael told his story with a smile that looked as if it would never fade.
