The dark sea crashed against the grey beach. A light off in the distance caught my eye and I stared and I stared waiting for whatever was supposed to come but nothing did and soon I was consumed in darkness.
I was abruptly awakened by the constant hum of cars and constant drilling of mechanical equipment. I pushed my self up to a sitting position on my comforter and rubbed my eyes. I blinked a few times and remember where I was and who I am. Took of what I had been wearing yesterday and looked for something that looked decent. It was an old flannel I had remembered my older brother wearing a long time ago so it was a little big but it would manage. I crawled over to the cold metal gate and pushed it open. I put my head out first and looked from side to side making sure nobody could see me. I quickly crawled out and stood on my feet and brushed myself off. I put my hand in my pocket and felt for the $10, it was still there and I knew exactly what I was going to buy with it after school. I jumped over the stream and started my long walk to school.
I walked into the front of the school and saw the prettiest girl I had ever layed eyes on, Tay Jacks. She was short and had curly brown hair. Then Eli walked up to her and they started talking and "holding hands" which really meant locking pinkies together. I frowned and walked away and went to go to the wall that I always leaned against when there was kid I had never ever seen before. I walked up to her and said
"Excuse me your standing in my spot can you move". She had to look up to me and said," Hi I'm Ceres and I like to stand in people's spots just to make them angry"
She smiled and held out her hand for a hand shake. I grabbed her small cold hands and she said
"Oh uh sorry my hands are so cold I a-"
She was interrupted by Eli, " aw look at these love birds are you guys going to live in a box together under a bridge" his friends ooohed and ahhhed except Tay she was looking at her feet and I knew right then that she knew what Eli was doing wasn't right.
"Eli can we go this is silly" she tried to walk away but he stood firm.
"Yah your girlfriend has a point you wanker, get out of here before I stick my foot up your tiny bum" Ceres said.
"Oh wow Ezra gotta have a little girl stick up for you now, don't you?"
What happened next was like a dream come true, Ceres walked right up to him and kicked him in the area and eh went down in seconds. Tay screamed and Elis friends ran away from us. "That'll teach you not to mess with us" she spat on Eli and walked away, I trailed behind.
The Class bell rang and everyone ran to their home room.
I walked into Mrs. Newberry's classroom and sat where I always sat but this time Ceres sat with me and I had a tiny feeling in the bottom of my stomach that this would finally be a good day. The speakers came on and we said the pledge as we do every morning
Oh Newdom how we thank you every day is a great day to be alive in Newdom oh how blessed we are and oh how we will cherish every second, may Newdom prosper and have an eternal life.
Everyone sat back down and Mrs. Newdom got up and turned on The Gloss Board and the lights went dark. A few moments later the gloss board came to life and it had a map of the world and all of the great nations appeared.
"Today we will be having a geography lesson" the class erupted in 'ughs' and 'ewes'. She pointed to Newdom first.
"This is where a country called Africa used to be, but the Africans were not smart so soon an awful country called China took over, and this made the made the Americans mad. Some Americans agreed with what china was doing so the country was split into two parts that are known today as Olemerica and The Confederation Of America. Many people were unhappy with this situation so they created Texfornia which is an ally of Newdom". Eli launched a ball of paper that hit a kid named Cyrus in the back of the head, he sat there though and accepted it. "Eventually the countries were so angry that they bombed each other and killed everything, but a lucky few were sent to space so they could one day repopulate the earth. Many people actually still had been living when all the bombs went of, these people were called Grounders. The people from space and the grounders didn't get along very well so they created Nations. Many grounders live in Eurasia and Tambien now but a few are still spread out among the nations". Eli stood up and said," yah and Ezra is a stupid grounder too who just wants to kill us all" the class laughed but everyone had heard this before so they weren't impressed. "Anyways, you may be wondering how Newdom was created. Well a man by the name of Bay and a woman by the name of Camber were in the space ships. They were the leaders. Bay created Newdom and Camber created Eurasia. Everything was fine until a girl named Taylor created a place called Blizen. Blizen is an awful place and we all hate it very much. Soon Taylor fell in love with Bay so she left Blizen for Newdom and this made the people of Blizen upset so they assassinated Bay and Taylor and here we are today. Blizen is also kno-". Loud shots went outside the school and lots of screams filled the classroom. An announcement went off and said that everything was under control and that students are dismissed early. Everyone ran from the classroom and out of the school. We all went to where the shots had been fired and saw written on the wall in something dark red.
Blizen will rise again!
I saw a body lying on the ground but we were all pushed away by the security guard so I never saw who was lying on the ground. I began my walk home and knew that things were about to go down.
