Ezra was just 5 when he was forced to fend for himself in a crippling society. All that will soon change. As Ezra enters high school he learns a lot about himself and how to cope with the struggles of High School and maybe something a lot bigger.
I ran to the bridge and jumped the small creek under the bridge. Then I saw my 'home' and above the hole to my home was "Go Back to where you came from". I took a deep breath and climbed inside and locked the gate.

I looked through a pile of old clothes and blankets and found a year book from last year. I looked through the book and saw a girl with Blonde hair, she had light green eyes and she was also a congressman's daughter. I looked into her eyes and knew that that was the little girl who had been murdered today. I close the book and set it back on my clothes. It's starts to get dark and I know the daily announcements are about to be said. I unlock the cold gate and walk outside to a place where I can see the billboards. I put my hands in my pockets and watch the air from my mouth leave my mouth because of how cold it is. Then I hear a twig snap and turn around as fast as light. It's Ceres. "Why are you here in the middle of the night?" She questions. "Your one to speak". "I saw you from the apartment and thought I'd come check it out." She points to a building that says 'The Astro' I look at her and say "This is where I live" I mumble She looks at her feet. "It's awfully cold I don't think you should be out here right now, wanna come to my house?". "I can't, I'm not exactly loved by the people here". "Ok fine, I tried to help but you don't want it I guess." She walked away and I knew I had lost the only friend I'd ever had. I hear the chimes boom over the loud speakers and the eminences voice can be heard around the nation "Today my people, we have a severe crime, a little girl was murdered just to prove a point. Somebody from another nation did this and they will be found." The anthem started playing and soon all the billboards went back to there normal screens. I crawled back into my home and slid under my blanket. I looked at my gazelle and slowly drifted off to sleep into the magnificent, peaceful darkness.
8 Years Later
I crawl out of my hole and run out into the park. I then see Ceres waiting for me under the tree and run to her. Once she sees me she runs into my arms and she touches my cheek. We then follow with a quick good morning kiss and hug each other as tight as possible. As we hug each other she loses her balance and goes tumbling to the ground, me included. We laugh and lie there in the wet morning grass. She grabs my hand and says," Why are we so clumsy?". I laugh and say,"because we are who we are." We sit up and I run my fingers through her thin blonde hair. "So what's on the agenda for today?" "Well you have ballet today so I guess you'll be busy." "Ballet doesn't start for another two hours, how about we go to the cafe and get some lattes with the squad". I sigh and say,"that sounds amazing." We get up and walk to her little smart car and we both get in. A Ted Sheeran song comes on when we hit Ollec avenue and I turn it up. "You know I hate Teds music babe" she says. "Fine but he's a really good artist you should actually give his music a chance sometime". I turn the station to 24.2 and a Taylor swift song is playing back from when she wasn't on drugs and trying to get to Eurasia. We silently ride to the cafe and we walk in the tiny building. "There he is ladies and gentlemen the one and only Ezra!". Astro laughs and grabs a cup of coffee and hands it to me. Astro is a medium height guy with dark brown hair and tanned skin, he's a ladies man and know what he wants when he wants it. Then there's Caia. She's tall for a girl and is probably one of the most smartest girls of all time. She has blonde hair with some pink highlights. She's also really pretty for a nerd. We find a table and sit around it. "Did you guys hear about the stunt Ely tried to pull?" Caia asked. "What did that crazy heffer do this time?" Astro asked. "Well rumor has it that he tried skydiving from the eminences office." Caia said. "What about that crazy girl he's always with?". "You mean Tay, I thought she moved schools after the incident happened." She laughed. "What the hell Ceres that's not funny she could have died." I said. "Why do you care Ezra she had it coming for her, and who would've known the girl would have done that for a cat." "Tay didn't deserve that and she's a really nice person." "Whatever, anyways she's back?" Ceres asked. "Yeah, I saw her at the bottom of the office recording the whole thing." Caia said. We sat around sipping coffees for about half and hour and soon we were off to perform are daily routines.
