Cat~

I grew tired of training, I exited the small room inside of the training area and began to wonder around, watching as agents trained fighting skills. As I was wondering around I was feeling all the emotions of those around me, that woman to my left was angry, the young man I just passed was feeling determined to break that punching bag. Ha! Maybe if he were Steve Rogers.

I exited the training facility and adventured through the halls of S.H.I.E.L.D. As I passed a room guarded by a high tech door with tons of scanners and ID slots, a wave of anger hit me- wait, scratch that. It was like a mix of anger, sorrow, and... longing? I began to become interested in what lied behind this door. I saw an agent pass by and sneakily plucked their card from it's clip. When no one was in sight, I swiped the card in a slot and the door quietly opened. As I stepped in it slid closed, startling me.

My eyes wondered around the room, I was awestruck by all of this equipment! I didn't even know this kind of stuff existed! Maybe that was the point... S.H.I.E.L.D. probably kept this room a secret for a reason.

I soon found this reason out as I turned to my left and saw a man standing in a clear cell. My feet seemed to have a mind of their own and began walking forward. Before I knew it, I was just inches from the glass, staring face to face with this man.

"You're the one I felt..." I said out loud.

"Pardon?" He had replied.

"I felt you. I was walking past this room and I felt your presence. You are filled with many emotions," I stated.

The man looked down, "What is your name, mortal?"

"Cat," I blurted out without thinking. Wait... mortal? What was this whacko talking about?

"Your parents couldn't have possibly given you a name such as that!" he scoffed.

"It's just what I go by... my actual name is Caitlin. But it's really lame and common."

"I see... why have you come to me, Cat?"

"Like I said, I felt you. Would you let me in your mind? I sense emotions, I would like to see if my abilities work on people other than humans. You are a god, I suppose?"

The man nodded his head, "Loki, God of Mischeif and Lies. And please, I encourage you to feel what I feel, to experience what pain I deal with every day," he spat out the last part.

I nodded my head, "Thank you," I said before sitting down and concentrating on him.

I could feel all of his feelings rushing into me. No wonder this guy was acting so weird. I tried to change how he was feeling, he searched for friendship, someone he could trust. I took away all of the pain I had felt in him and replaced it with a warm fuzzy feeling known as friendship and happiness. He had relaxed and sat down right in front of me. The only thing separating us was the thick glass from his cell.

"You can trust me, I can be your friend," I gave him a warm smile and tried to feel open and trustworthy to him. This man had no doubt been betrayed somehow- sometime in his lifetime.

"Thank you, so much," he said, I could hear the relief in his voice.

"Anything for a friend," I replied.

After we had established a foundation of trust and kindness, Loki began telling me his life story. He really had it tough growing up, especially from what I've heard about his idiotic brother so far. When he had finished, I began to tell him about my abilities.

"So, you're telling me that you can actually turn into a cat?" he asked me, astonished.

I nodded my head, "Yup!"

"Prove it," he gave me a challenging smirk.

"Challenge accepted!" I stood up and took the form of a small, black cat and pawed at the glass that was his cell.

"Oh my Odin," he whispered to himself, "you are absolutely adorable, aren't you, little kitty?" Loki cooed in one of those voices you use to talk to animals or whatever.

I couldn't take this anymore, it was absolutley hilarious! I transformed back into my actual self and burst out laughing, "Loki, that was still me, you know!" I managed to say between laughs, my face was turning red and I could barely breathe.

"Gods I forgot!" he said, embarrassed.

I giggled, "It's fine, so why are you in here?" I tapped on the glass.

"Well... that's sort of a rather long story..." he trailed off.

"I'm all ears!" I perked up.

Loki's gaze suddenly left mine and his eyes grew wide, he was staring at something behind me, "Uhhh... Cat?"

"Yee?" I asked exitedly.

"I think you should maybe... turn around. And maybe run as fast as you can?"

"Why?" I asked in an almost whiney tone, I really enjoyed the company of my new friend.

"Just do as I say..."

"Fiiiiine," I turned around and my eyes flew open so wide that you would have thought they popped out of my head.
