I sat up still drowsy from the long flight to Florida the night before. We were on vacation, but I barely remembered any of the flight except that my mom had got talking with the flight attendant and had got me embarrassed. But that's a story for another time. Oh and that I had hugged someone I thought was dad because I was so tired, but again that's off topic. Anyway the bed under me was soft, but my neck really hurt because of the monstrous pile of pillows under my head. Lifting my head I looked around, all of my family especially my brother were fast asleep.Looking around some more I realize on each of the cabinets lay a towel shaped like mickey mouse. The disney world hotel was pretty. I lay my head back down and slowly closed my eyelids drifting fast asleep. Beep....Beep I woke with a startle, hitting the alarm clock to make it stop the high pitched beeping. Just as I sat up so did my two parents, my brother though was still fast asleep and it took us a while to get him up. Man for a 5 year old he was hard to wake up. I quickly got dressed and impatiently hovered by the door. Only to bug my parents though because they hate when I hover by the door, it makes them feel slow.
"Hannah stop waiting by the door and come me help put your clothes in the drawers," my mom hollered.
"Ugh," I moaned, but did as I was told.
Finally we left the hotel, and walked through the door to outside. a man dressed as a pirate gave us a pirate coin and gave us a smile filled with fake gold teeth. I simply grinned a normal 8 year old smile with 1 silver molar showing. Then we went to the bus area and waited for what seemed liked forever. We boarded a bus to the Epcot Area in Disney world. Taking us to the middle of the Japan area in Epcot. We got of the bus in a big crowd. We explored Epcot a little and then later that night I was looking at the beautiful dark storm sky. When I spotted a amazing Japanese lantern on the edge of one of the buildings. Gently blowing in the wind. I stared at it not knowing a lantern could be so pretty. Then I spotted a beetle gently nested in the lantern. The moonlight reflected off it's beetle wings illuminating the lantern in an orange color. I hollered to my dad to get him to come over, waving my hands frantically at the lantern wanting to know what kind of beetle the bug was.
When my dad staggered over to where I was, he replied with interest,"Hannah, that's a cockroach."
Ew gross I thought. I was disappointed and lost interest in the pretty lantern. I had been staring at forever. Then I find out there was a cockroach in it and bam no longer interested.
