A Foreign Touch

     Just a quick heads-up, there is going to be some Spanish in this chapter. I will be putting the English translation at the bottom. Enjoy!

                                                                                Ryan's POV

     "Who would you date?"

     "Um..." I hesitated, "Collette-"

     Daniel shot a look towards me, a devious grin on his face, "Oh, this is news to me..."

     Collette is a nice, sweet girl. She's the perfect, in fact. Straight A's, lots of friends, beautiful. Almost every guy liked her. Almost. Everyone but me.

     "Obviously," Matt says, "She's got porcelain skin, of course she's a ten."

     "Is that supposed to be a 'Gym Class Heroes' reference?" I giggle.

     "Haha, yeah. Yeah, it is," he says in reply, "Nice ears!"

     "Anyways," Daniel begins, "When is your guys' birthdays, mines July 6th?"

     "June 28th," Mark smiles.

     "August 21st," Sarah replies.

     "And mines February 5th," Matt grins. Good to know. I look down at my phone to check the time and pretend to text someone so I can but the date in my calendar. "What about you, Ryan?"

     "Oh, mines June 14th" I say looking around the awkward circle we made.

     "Sweet!" Matt breathes, nodding his head. I look up Matt and see him staring at me. Wonder how long he has been staring at me. The eye contact only lasts a second or two. He then realizes he's starting at me and panics. He looks away and I look down at my hands, phone still in hand. God, I hope I didn't creep him out... ugh, now he probably thinks I'm weird! What if he finds out I like him?! What if Daniel tells him? No... Daniel wouldn't do that. Right? What if he like me too? Impossible. No one has ever had a crush on me. Ever.

     "My turn!" I chimed, sitting up straighter. I have to think a bit. Wait, what should I ask? I look to Daniel and he nods me on. "Um, uh- never mind..." I say with a sheepish grin.

     "Oh, uh, ok," Mark says, "What are your guys' favorite book?"

     "LAME!" Sarah laughs, Mark playfully punches her.

     "Well, I actually like this book called "Ecstasy". More specifically a part in it called "Three Tales of Chemical Romance". I absolutely love the writing style and the plot." Matt says, embarrassment lacing his words, "Uh, sorry for geeking out for a second..."

     "Nah, man. I heard that's a good book," Daniel says, smiling. Matt looks up and grin slightly to this comment, "Mine probably has to be "A Visit from the Goon Squad" by Jennifer Egan. It's so fucking good!"

     "Well, I think one of my favorites is Hollow City," Sarah chimed in.

     "Hmm that's tough to beat," Mark said, his face twisted with thought, "Oh, what about "The Great Gatsby"? That's a classic!"

     "Yeah, yeah, but what about "To Kill a Mocking Bird"? That's a great book!" I piped, energetically.

     "OH! That's an amazing story!!" Matt exclaimed.

     Just as Matt said that the bell rang, signaling 6th period. We sighed and gathered our stuff and started on our way to our next class. Mine was year 2 Spanish, and I believe Daniels was year 1 German. That meaning our class rooms were parallel to each other. I had noticed that Matt had gone the opposite direction of Danny and I.
