Narrator POV
By the time twilight rolls around, you've unpacked all your boxes on your own, despite the offers Eduardo and Mark made to help. You wonder about that guy they were talking about, Jon, and how he died. It could've been anything. Even a robot could've killed him. But that would be a stretch. The only robot that's been around in this city is the one that destroyed half a neighborhood.
Your about to call it a night, again, but you hear tapping. Not on the roof, which is the ambience of the house you've gotten used to, it's on the window. Hopefully birds haven't infested the window. It would be one reason why people had moved out. You open the window, seeing nothing of interest. '' Hey there. '' A voice says from above you. You jump a little, banging your head on the top of the window. You recognize the voice immediately. Tom.
'' What are you doing here? And why are you above my window, get down from there you could get hurt! '' You ask in concern. '' I'd... rather not come down. '' Tom says nervously. You sigh. You see this as another sign of Tom's anxiety. '' Tom, I'm fine. I'm not afraid of you. '' You confess.
Tom's POV
Well, Crap. She's calling me down. I look at my arm, or what's visible of it due to the hoodie I'm wearing. It's black as the the tiles of the roof. I guess I have no choice. After all, she said she isn't scared of me. Plus, I could fall off. I decide to get down carefully and hide the hand in my pocket. For now it'll do. After this, I guess I'll have some explaining to do. Suddenly, I can feel it spreading up to my neck. And it looks pretty visible too. Hopefully IT doesn't happen while I'm still here.
Narrator POV
Tom hops into the window of your room. You back up a little, letting him have some space. You sigh, feeling annoyed by the fact someone you just met today was on your roof. '' Please explain why you were on my roof? What were you going to do?! Rob me?! Break my window?! '' You exclaim in fury. You suddenly realize black scales are spreading up Tom's neck. Tom backs up from you as if he notices it too. '' It doesn't matter... '' Tom mumbles. '' W-Why is half of your neck black? '' You stutter.
Before you know it, Tom has horns on his head, about the size of a fawn's horns. '' There's no time to explain... just get me out of here before I.... '' Tom says, rushing his words. Tom runs over to the bedroom door and attempts to open it, but his fingers have turned to claws. You get onto your bed and hide at the farthest corner away from Tom. You cover yourself with blankets and hold onto a pillow to comfort yourself. You can hear the muffled sounds of growling. You hear stomping slowly coming toward you.
You feel something coming onto your bed. Slowly, but surely. Your surprised the bed hasn't either collapsed or broken in half yet. The blankets are slowly pulled off by a big and black clawed hand. You see only what you can assume to be Tom. Hopefully, he isn't going to try and kill you.
