(two chapters in one day? what is this blasphemy? why do I have creativity at 1:30 am? why am I up? who knows... anyway you get to learn more about Ollie in this, well how I depict him. he is sane, strategic and has trust issues. also fun fact old fashion bakers were jacked because they kneaded the dough by hand... so yeah Ollie is far from  weakling.)

"we are basically immortal by birth" Aldwyn grinned cutely as Oliver nodded slowly.

"that is my cue to go to bed..." (name) replied as she shook her head and blinked "way too much information in one day" she then slipped out of the room and closed the door leaving Aldwyn and Oliver alone in the room.

"why are you so upset?" Aldwyn asked tilting his head as Oliver flopped into his chair and groaned.

"because we both just made me seem like a loon in front of someone I like... we don't tell people about what we are unless we need to... Sarah's colonists were told about her because they kept trying to kill her, but Ginny's don't know because she hides away from them and they don't notice she doesn't age. This is because people don't believe us when we tell them. We are either seen as freaks to them or something to be used." He explained then looked at the golden-haired boy with a saddened expression "Aldwyn you will learn that in this world we are both an ace and a pawn, we are the best warriors but we are under the control of the king, or queen, depending on who is in control. We hide from humans because they believe we are unnatural, freaks, monsters even... we have hid for so long people don't believe we exist anymore. Yet we live among them and walk by them every day. Do you understand now why I didn't want her to know?"

The boy nodded and lowered his head "sorry... that explains why the orphanage threw me out huh?"

Oliver winced at that, he got up and walked over before placing a hand on the boy's shoulder. "it is not your fault, they chose to abandon you when you needed them the most. Same with your mother for leaving you with them... and your ass of a dad... how such a kind smart boy like you is the son of that moron I shall never know... you must have inherited your smarts from your mother" he smiled reassuringly trying to get the boy to cheer up, he knew all too well what it was like to blame himself for things out of his control. The last thing he would do was let another do that to them self. He then ushered the boy to go to bed before sitting back in his chair to take a short nap. They day had flown by and he felt like he was weighed down by lead.

The next day (name) noticed the captain avoiding her, rushing to different spots on the ship, or talking with crew members the moment she walked over. Frustrated she hid in his cabin till he came in. she quickly stood in front of the door and frowned. "why are you avoiding me? and don't say you aren't because you obviously are even the crew noticed..." she said in an irritated tone.

Oliver jumped a mile at her voice and whirled around, hand on his sword out of instinct. Once he realized it was just her he sighed and pinched his temples "you realize sneaking up on anyone who has a weapon is crazy?" before he could say anything else the (hair color) girl scowled "that doesn't answer the question... why are you avoiding me?"

The young man sighed and closed his eyes as he let go of the hilt. He looked up at her and replied "judging on how you reacted yesterday at the shocking revelation of what I am I assumed you either A. wanted to call me a freak or B. try to manipulate me... because that is what all humans do when they learn about me... avoidance is the best way to not get hurt." He then went to his desk to check the map not seeing the shocked reaction the young woman had from the explanation.

"neither, you try finding out that the person you have affections for is immortal and will easily outlive you? It's mindboggling as is to find out that there are people in this world that are walking talking landmasses! I needed to lay down to fully process it all!" she sighed as she walked over noticing just now the bags under his eyes, the puffiness and redness of his eyes from obviously crying. Her arms wrapped around him trying to cheer him up even by a little.

It took a while but eventually, he opened up again. something (name) noticed as the days passed was how damaged the young man truly was. she noticed the quirks that she missed before, he always was looking around like a prey animal in an open field, he would wince whenever someone yelled, he had a habit of moving his jaw which made a weird click noise making it obvious it had been dislocated before and set improperly or had healed incorrectly after being broken then rebroken to fix it, he never had his back to his crew and when he did he was looking over his shoulder, tensing at even the slightest touch, he had four locks on his cabin door, he always had a sword on him, he tended to bite his nails when he thought no one was looking, he would constantly run his fingers through his hair, he didn't sleep much at all and lastly he was extremely awkward with reacting to affection of any kind. She had asked the crew about it and found out way more than she had expected to.

Oliver had his jaw broken as a child by his own father in a drunken rage. He grew up mocked for his speech relying on Arthur for translations. Arthur took the credit for all of the strategies Oliver had made and eventually, during what is known as the war of the roses he chose the opposing side to his twin resulting in Arthur breaking Oliver's jaw. This time it healed correctly and he was able to speak normally. He lived his life mocked harassed and hated resulting in his demeanor, the crew had even once tried to mutiny on him thinking he was unfit. That was a huge mistake on their part because he was the most skilled man on the ship, and they saw for the first time his anger. The entire crew warned the young woman that although hard to truly anger, his wrath could scare even davy jones.
