The (h/c) woman knocked on the cabin door and walked inside when she heard the tired voice of the Captain calling back that it was open. Oliver was studying the map with a tired expression as only looking up when (name) cleared her throat. "Hm? What seems to be up poppet?" he asked as he raised an eyebrow.
"I was chatting with the crew and they told me something curious..." she said as she sat down on the bed, earning a confused look from the young man before her.
"what did they tell you?" he asked as he took a seat in his chair
"oh nothing really just about a young woman you were smitten with and how your brother sort of split you two up..." she replied "if it's a sensitive subject you don't have to tell me but, who was she?'
The redhead leaned back with a sad look and closed his eyes as he spoke. "Her name is Françoise, much like me, she is a persona, one of the representations of France... I grew up with her, we were really close... she always stood up for me and even in times of war she only ever disarmed me... she never could hurt those whom she cared about... as years passed she went from a confident girl to a jittery nervous woman... her eyes dulled and her self-confidence dwindled... but I still tried so hard to be there for her... we eventually, or so I believed, fell for one another... I thought by having her in the new world away fro her king she would be happier... and she was... she started to act a bit more like how she used to be... then suddenly that changed, she wasn't herself, she acted like she was hiding something, wouldn't look me in the eye, got so clingy, she would constantly check to make sure I was there when I was trying to sleep, ask me over and over if I still loved her and I brushed it off for a while then... Arthur told me she probably was using me of intelligence... her sudden change then made so much more sense... I cut ties with her, and never looked back... it hurt but the fact she could have just used me? that hurt the most... just thinking of her makes me feel hollow... luckily we weren't married or that would have been disastrous..."
(name) listened and nodded she had a sinking feeling that it wasn't information this Françoise was hiding, an unmarried woman, getting clingy and nervous about the man they love leaving, many could come to the conclusion that the woman was with child and the fact Arthur had told Oliver she had a child with her could also push that point further. (name) kept silent about her thoughts knowing they could only cause trouble. But, she felt pity for Françoise if it truly was the case.
(yes this is a huge piece of the story and yes the kid is 2p Canada, which sort of makes it a bit obvious who his dad is... and although Ollie is a strategic genius... when it comes to reading women... he fails. the doubt Arthur planted made him overlook the facts that would be obvious to anyone else.( this side story will have it's own story on here though it won't be a reader insert.) but because of that he was able to meet (name) or as we refer to her in an rp i have with my friend, charlotte, don't worry this story isn't about FRUK its about ollie and (name).)
