Serena has been training hard ever since that day.

Her mother had said something during dinner

"Maybe if you prove yourself by being the top battler and beating a champion I'll let you go out in your own journey,maybe you'll even find Ash,who knows?"

That was more than enough to get Serena off her butt. For two weeks she trained and tuned her skills from performing to battling.

Dawn now describes her as a cold silent person.

Even though she was always like that her friends still hung around her.

Gary would constantly challenge Serena to a single battle since she had become a lot more powerful. Sometimes they would challenge each other for the title of strongest battler at school.

Usually they will have the battle at school with professor sycamore as the ref. But whenever they do that Lillie would interrupt by kicking Serena. Even though she was cold and silent her head would still get messed up whenever she was mocked.

But she would recover whenever she remembered Ash's words.

"Braixen flamethrower" as her Pokémon obeyed Gary retaliated with hydro canon.

The two moves collided resulting in a tie.

"I really thought I would win this time"said the boy while shaking hands with the honey blonde.

"Yeah me too"her voice was gloomy

"Come on,you've been like this for two weeks"

"So..."she said glaring at the boy

His voice softened"Ash would hate to see you like this you know"

Her face showed how destroyed she was

"Come on let's talk about this somewhere else".

Gary then signaled to Dawn who was in the audience to leave.

The trio got to an empty classroom and Serena slumped down.

"You know Ash would hate to see you like this"said the mahogany haired boy.

She was still broken inside but she gathered it up together for his sake"alright"

"Come on,you'll just continue you're gloomy rampage when we're gone"said the blue haired girl.

"It's just"

"You have to cheer up,tomorrow the champions are coming over and you can't battle properly unless your cheerful"said the mahogany haired boy.

Then the blue haired girl interrupted the two"ash was said to me that when you're happy you can do anything,he said that Lillie was estimated to win,but you managed to pull thru because you kept a cool head and didn't become the fuss all you are right now"

"It's just ever since he left,It's like a part of my life is missing"her voice then changed"but tomorrow I'll do my best,that means I'll have to beat you Gary,because no matter I have to win"

"I'm not going easy on you"said the mahogany haired boy.

"I'm looking forward to a good battle you two so don't disappoint me"

"Well this afternoon is the last time we can battle so make sure you're Pokémon get enough rest"the girls mood had completely changed,she was now back to her usual self.

"Good to see that your back"said the blue haired girl while slapping her back.

"Yeah,me too,I better be getting to class now,we've already missed lunch"with that the girl walked away.

Yeah I know it's short but I'm publishing it along with another chapter so save your time.

Oh and I might probably just skip the battle by saying who won and yadda yadda but if I have time I'll right an actual battle.

One more thing.
