"C'mon, Princess, it isn't that bad." Bellamy said on the horse next to hers. They were riding through the woods but it was a section without trees. So, Clarke felt she was dying in the mid day sun.
"Must we be out in the open? Can't we just go in the shade?"
"Sun is good for your skin. Besides, it's beautiful out here?"
"Miserable, more like ... and nothing says romance like a bunch of armed soldiers surrounding you." She rolled her eyes.
"If you like this, you'll love my idea for a picnic under the stars." He was partly joking.
"First hot, now cold?" She complained.
"Oh you'll be plenty warm enough, I'll be sure of that." Bellamy winked. Clarke suddenly felt angry.
"You know, I was actually starting to think you've changed but I guess not! You're still the selfish, self serving, arrogant, man whore-" Bellamy was just chuckling at her when all of the sudden, one of the guards around them got an arrow in his chest. They looked around them in fear. Another went down.
"Princess, Go!" Bellamy demanded. Clarke went to go but was blocked by men and ripped off her horse. She kicked and moved to the best of her ability but it was no use.
"Let me go!" Clarke yelled. She yelled as she fought. She yelled the names of the soldiers but no one turned their head. Out of desperation, she called, "Bellamy!" He immediately turned to see her and ran to her aid. The men who held her sent a man to fight Bellamy. Clarke still kicked and fought as the men approched one another from a considerable distance.
"Let her go! She's the Princess of the land. The king will have your heads if any harm comes to her."
"Then let's fight. Let's see the Prince win back his Princess." The man smirked. The statement was annoying to both Bellamy and Clarke. I am no man's princess. Clarke thought. She doesn't belong to me. Bellamy thought. But still, he couldn't let them take her, sell her, kill her.
"Fine. What's your name first?"
"John. John Murphy."
"Well, John." Bellamy stepped foreward. "Prepare to die."
"Too you as well, my prince." Murphy gave a sly smile. They circled around eachother for a time. Then, the action began. They were both very skilled. But, Clarke was getting worried with how close they were becomeing. Murphy was stepping so close. Why?That's when she saw it, the dagger in Murphys hand.
"Bellamy! He's got a dagger!" She called, but it was too late. A gag went in her mouth, Bellamy looked at her and the dagger went in his side. Clarke slipped out of their hands, grabbed a sword from a near by body and killed the man nearest to her. But suddenly, there was pressure on the back of her head and the world went dark.***
Clarke woke up with a pounding headache. It was night and a fire was the only reason she could see. She sat up slowly from the forest floor. Her hands were tied behind her and her mouth gaged but she managed to get it off.
"Sit up slowly." She heard Bellamy whisper. Clarke looked to her left and there he sat, holding his side. His face was pale and he was visably broken out in a cold sweat. "You hit your head pretty hard. I'm going to need you to be thinking clearly." Bellamy says.
"Where are we?" She whispered to him.
"A days walk, maybe." He shrugged.
"How long was I out?"
"About eight hours." Bellamy estimated. Clarke looked over to his left side, exposing his blood covered hand.
"Have they treated you?"
"I don't believe they care if I die."
"Then why bring you? It's a wonder they didn't kill you."
"Probably didn't want me running to your father." He managed a laugh. Clarke looked at the man tending to the fire.
"Excuse me?" She tried. He didn't even turn his head. "Excuse me. My friend is dying."
"What do you want me to do about it?"
"Get me a wet rag? Needle and thred? Alcohol? A knife hot enough to close the wound?" She gave him sass.
"I'm not helping you heal him."
"Fine but could you at least get me a wet rag?" She begged. The man looked at her, sighed, then went to wet a rag at the river not far, knowing they wouldn't run. The man came back and held the rag out to her, only to realize her hands were still bound. He sighed and bent down as she turned her back to him so he could untie her. Suddenly, Bellamy wrapped the ropes that were tied loosely around his wrists around the man's throat. Clarke painfully watched him strangle the man. He fought for his life but eventually went limp.Out of breathe, Bellamy walked over to Clarke and finished untying her.
"Come on. We have to go. Now." He helped her up and they started running. "I saw some horses not far from here. If we can make it there, we'll be ok." Bellamy said. He was more confident than Clarke on that. They ran a while longer before Clarke tripped and felt a snap. It took everything she had not to scream. Bellamy went back to help her up but she pushed him away.
"No! I can't! My leg! Go, leave me!"
"I'm not leaving you!" He shouted at her before picking her up bridal style and running with her. They ran and eventually found the horses. They were feet away from the camp so Bellamy tried being as quiet as he could. He set Clarke on the horse and took a second to breathe. His side was throbbing in pain. With a few deep breathes, he threw himself on the horse and stole it.They rode. It took forever. The sun wasn't even coming up when they saw the castle.
"We're almost there." Clarke said anxiously. Bellamy was starting to feel dizzy. The blood loss was finally getting to him along with the possible infection. "Once we get close enough, we should-" Clarke was still talking until Bellamy fell of the horse and passed out. "Bellamy?" Clarke called. He didn't move. "Bellamy!" She slide off the horse only to crumble to the ground and grab her leg with a shaking hand. Still, she dragged herself to his side and started shaking him. The horse continued on the direction it was going. "Bellamy, wake up!" She demanded. Clarke looked around. There was no away she could drag herself to the castle. There was no way she was leaving Bellamy.***Aww! Just like that, it goes from hate to actually caring 😂 I hope you enjoyed the chapter and I'll see yall next time!
