History: Younger sibling to Spain, Texas speaks spanglish, and will occasionally throw in a few French phrases that she learned during her short stay with France. Spain abandoned her when she was still young, leaving her in the care of Mexico. Mexico's tyrannical leader, Santa Anna, began forcing law's on her people. She fought him with much force. For a while, her people's hope was fading and she almost gave up after the slaughter at the Alamo. But her people rallied around that and captured Santa Anna at the battle of San Jacinto. She then became her own country, but her president, Sam Houston, soon had her annexed into the United States. Mexico was not pleased, so Mexico and the U.S went to war. Needless to say America won gaining California, New Mexico, and Arizona in the process. During the Civil War Texas sided with the Confederacy. Texas has made her peace with Spain, but she still hates Mexico, because he continues to let his people cross her borders illegally.

I walked along the sidewalk, just listening to the birds. I whistled the melody of "Set Fire to the Rain" by Adele. Us states had our own meetings to attend. America had it easy. we actually TRIED to be productive. He just ranted about being the hero. WE were the ones keeping the country afloat. I just wished he realized that others cared for his safety... like me. The meeting was mostly about making more jobs. The same old thing. Once again I suggested that we increase border control in my state. America wouldn't give us approval. Damn it Mexico! Stop letting your people cross my border illegally! YA JERK! I just sighed... such a nice day. I wanted to go to the stable, take care of the horses. My favorite was a spiritful mare named Chestnut. I called her Ches. She calmed me down when I was stressed. America was putting a lot of pressure on us because of his useless spending for war. Being a hero was all he thought about sometimes. We had our own problems here at home, illegals and all. I was lost in thought when I heard a familiar voice. It was Rhode Island.
"Hey, Texas, you got a minute?"
"Yeah, what is it? Something happen?"
"America... he's-"
"What happened to America? Did he get hurt again?" A noticeable blush was dusting my cheeks.
"Well, he's sick and it's your turn to take care of him. I know how you feel about him! Can't hide it from me~!"
"Damn, and I was hoping you'de be like every other girl I've met with double D's."
"What would that be?"
"A completely oblivious ditz."
"Ouch, that really hurt. You're mean."
"Only as mean as you."
"Exactly!"
"Whatever. I'll go and take care of him. What are the big things to look out for this time? Delusions?"
"He's no more delusional than any other day. Just keep an eye on him."
*Later that day, at America's house*
"Texas, come here!"
"What's the matter, America?"
I looked at him. he was shivering and sweating at the same time. Freezing and burning all in one.
"Can I have some soda?"
"No, America. You can't have soda while you're sick. You need to stay hydrated, and soda dehydrates you."
"What? No fair."
"I'll get you some water."
I left with a sigh. He was just like a little kid when he's sick, and it was just as hard to take care of him. Water in hand, I went back to his room to find him asleep. Wow. Just like that, he was out. I turned to leave and heard him mutter something. I overlooked it as he was asleep, but he spoke louder when I reached the door.
"... Kristen..."
I turned around, "Yes?"
No answer, he was just sleep talking.
"Don't leave me... alone in here..."
Well, that was uncharacteristic of him. I sat in the chair next to him.
"Don't worry Alfred, I won't."
"Can you promise me something else then?"
"Of course. What is it?"
"Never leave my side. I love you too much to lose you again."
I was speechless. That was VERY uncharacteristic of him.
"I promise."
A/N: I really hope you like this! I had trouble thinking of a good scenario, so I hope this is nice. :) Was going to have a confrontation with Mexico, but thought this was much sweeter.
