Our story begins a few years after Kourtney's middle school years. She is sixteen now, she wears square black glasses, and her bosoms have blossomed like a rose bud in the spring. Her frail, tiny body has sprouted into a plump plum. Her adorable "apple cheeks" are as vibrant as ever and her smile is still as big and warm as the sun. She has been on the honor roll for five years now and won a few contests at her school for "Best Author". She has written multiple books and still enjoys reading. She also enjoys writing poetry and has the unusual talent of rhyming in everyday conversations. She also enjoys telling jokes and making her own puns.
She still isn't aware that Malorie is inside of her. Her parents have been wanting to tell her about Malorie, but they don't know how. They fear that if they tell her that she will be mad at them for not telling her sooner. They fear that she would want nothing to do with them if they told her.
~ August 28th, 1991: First day of junior year ~
Kourtney's first day of junior year was the best day ever. She began her morning by eating oatmeal with a banana. When she was finished she rushed upstairs to get dressed and prepare for the day. Once she was done getting ready she skipped downstairs to her front door, walked outside, and hopped into her car. Kourtney always enjoyed the first day of school. She loved meeting her teachers and talking to her friends she hadn't seen all summer. She started her car and began backing her car out of her driveway. Once she was out of the driveway she put the car in drive and made her way to her school. Her high school was a couple of blocks down from the town hall. The building of her school was huge, but there were only about two hundred and fifty people that went there. The building was made of brick and had an awning over the main entrance. In front of the awning there was a round-a-bout and in the center of the round-a-bout there was a fountain. The fountain was decorated in stone and in the center of it was a statue of the school's mascot: The Vikings. There was a statue of a Viking in the center of the fountain and it gave the school character.
When Kourtney arrived at school she parked her car in the student parking section. Once she parked she hopped out of her car and grabbed her backpack. She then made her way to the main entrance to go to her classroom. Before she could make it into the building one of her friends ran up to her and hugged her.
"Kourtney!" She screamed as she opened her arms to hug her.
"Jennifer!" Kourtney exclaimed.
"I haven't seen you all summer!" Jennifer said.
"Well someone was on vacation the entire summer," Kourtney said.
"Paris was fantastic!" Jennifer exclaimed. "The city of romance is now my favorite place in the world."
"I'd rather go to Disney World," Kourtney said.
"That's where I'm going for Christmas!" Jennifer exclaimed.
"No!" Kourtney said.
"Yes!"
Kourtney screamed and jumped up and down as if she were on a trampoline.
"You have to take me with you!" Kourtney exclaimed.
"I'll try, but I don't think my parents would let you go."
"Yeah probably," Kourtney said in agreement. "Well I'm going to go to class."
"Who do you have?" Jennifer asked.
"Mrs. Houston," Kourtney said.
"Darn! I have Adams."
"Well, maybe we'll have lunch or some classes together!" Kourtney said.
