After my bubble bath I called Sabrina knowing she would be up at this time of night
"Hey girl whats up" she said when she picked up on the 3rd ring
"You would never what happened" I said plopping down my bed
"Girl please tell me y'all ain't have sex already" she said & I can tell she was shaking her head rolling eyes
"Girl no but I did find out why he never dated me in high school" I told her biting my lip
"Why was that" she asked
"I think its time for a family reunion cause come to find out he's my brother" I said putting on my silk gown
"What the hell so your mom & dad had another child & didn't tell you" she said gasping
"Apparently but me & him are gonna go tomorrow & talk to them so they can tell me everything" I told her tying my hair up in a bun
"Well alright girly ima let u get some rest for tomorrow be safe & call me if you need me" she said I told her on & we hung up
I climbed in bed & just thought bout what kind of news I have got tonight like wtf I just closed my eyes & drifted off to sleep
The next morning I woke up & got ready to go confront my parents about this little well big situation they never told me about I did my hygiene & got dressed then I heard a knock on my door I went & opened Josh was standing there
"Hey you ready" he asked smiling damnit why those he have to be my brother I nod my head telling him ima drive my car he nod in agreement then I grabbed my purse keys & phone then walked to my car hopped in & he followed me to "our parents" house
It took only like an hour & 45 minutes to get there when we got there I saw my Aunt Lucy car in the drive way maybe she can help explain this I parked beside hers then him beside me we hopped out the same time & made our way to the front door I knocked & it opened showing my aunty
"Hey Jen girl come here & give aunty a hug baby" she said holding her arms out for one I smiled & hugged her
"Hey aunty hey mom hey daddy" I said greeting everyone they all spoke waving hey I hugged my mom & then hugged my daddy giving them both a kiss on the cheek
"So baby what brings you here we ain't seen you in about six months & who is your little friend" she said with her hands crossed in front of her
"Well mom that's the total reason why I'm here" I said sitting down next to my aunt
"What you pregnant" she said looking excited I shook my head no then her face turned into confusion "Well what are you here for sweetie" she asked looking lost
"Mommy, daddy, & you too aunty is there anything y'all would like to tell me why this lovely young handsome man that I knew since high school says that he's my brother" I said looking at all them & they looked like a deer caught in headlights
"U-ummm babygirl who told you that" my dad says sounding nervous I raised a brow at him & pointed towards Josh
"He did father & don't say that he's lying cause if there's one thing Josh is very honest & upfront with everything" I said looking at him but then turned my head to my aunt when she cleared her throat
"Baby there's something we all have to tell you" I looked at her ready for it then she spoke again "Well honey when your mom & I was young with your two uncles we all was at the park one day playing hide & go seek we didn't see the man creeping up behind your mother" I dropped my mouth ready for what she's gonna tell me cause I have a feeling what she gonna say I looked at my mom & could see that she was crying & my dad consolding her then looked back at my aunt & noticed tears coming down her face as she kept telling the story
"Well yeah he crept behind her then snatched her up I guess he had his hand over her mouth that's probably why we couldn't hear her until we heard her finally when we all turned around & noticed some man putting her in the back of a van we ran as fast as we can but it was no hope because he drove off before we could even save her" by this time Josh was consolding my aunt
"What happened next" I asked feeling tears run down my face
"Honey your mother went missing for nearly two weeks & from the kind of bloodline you come from full of preachers deacons prophets etc.... We prayed & prayed that god bring her home safely so one night while we was home praying we heard a knock at the door I went & opened then started screaming her name crying more harder do you know why" I shook my head no
"Because that man over there found your mom half way conscious on the corner of the street five blocks away & from that moment on they never broke up but stayed with each other through & thick & thin eight weeks later we found out your mom was pregnant not from your dad but from that disgusting bastard who raped her so what we did was just send him to Tallahassee with the rest of the family & grandma so they can raise him until they could find out when was the right time to tell you guys" she said wiping tears from her face & mine
I sat there for a minute just soaking all this in "Why didn't you guts never tell me"
"Baby we thought you was to young to understand so we just waited for the appropriate time to tell you please don't be mad honey" my mom said sitting up
I shook my head "Mom I'm not mad I'm just a little upset that y'all kept this secret from me all these years"
"BabyGirl we sorry at that time we was just trying to keep your mom safe & prevent her from being in any kind of danger we just want you to understand we wasn't trying to keep it away from you we just wanted to make sure you was in a safer environment you just have to understand we was only protecting you" my dad said looking at me through his glasses
"Yeah I understand but just please no more secrets especially any like this ok" I said laughing a little trying to lighting up the mood they all smiled & agreed
"Well mom dad this is Josh y'all son & aunty this is your nephew" I said introducing everyone
He hugged them all one by one & came sat down by me "Now Josh you have to understand we only did this cause we was to young but just remember you was always in our heart we even got pics my mother would send us" my mom said picking up a mirror checking her face for makeup smudges
He nods his head "Yeah I understand you had to do what you had to do but it feel good to finally meet my parents even though that Mab is my father you are more of a dad to me then he is" he said stating the last part to my dad
My dad nods his head & for the rest of the day we sat at my mom house catching up & it was a lot but you know what I don't even care im just happy & surprised that I have an older sibling
