Chapter 13

Ian's POV

"Hey Ian? Where's Maddie?" Jimmy asked. Maddie? Just a second ago she was standing there listening to us. I don't understand what happened! She's gone!

"Guys we gotta find Maddie!" I practically screamed at them. "Spread out! Let's go!" I shouted running out of the door. I turned left and ran screaming for Maddie. She has to be here somewhere. She couldn't have just disappeared! I saw an open door and decided to check out that room. When I got in I saw a huge kitchen. I decided to take a couple knives for protection. I also stuck a couple into the wall outside to mark this place as the kitchen where the weapons were.

I left the kitchen with Maddie still on my mind. If I don't find her... She could die. But I won't let that happen. I ran as fast as I could until I saw the broken window with a note on the side. Oh God. The note said:

Dear Ian and the Guys,

I really appreciate what you've done for me. You let me come with you to safety. You helped me with my twisted ankle. And Ian, you loved me to the very end.

I had tears rolling down my cheek. I didn't know what was to come of this note, but my gut had a bad feeling about it.

I realize that you love me. but I also realize that I can't stay with you. I am weak and thin, and emotional. I don't want to see you get hurt trying to save me. I would never make it. Mitch, don't bother kicking anyone out. Jimmy can handle this. Give him a chance. Jimmy, stay strong. Be brave. You can go much farther than I am going. Please, understand that I will be better off this way and that you guys did nothing wrong. I'll see you on the other side. ILY <3!

*Maddie*

I started to ball. She didn't think she was good enough. She is! She could've made it! I know she could. She also said that Jimmy can do this... Jimmy? That bastard!!! She killed herself so that HE could stay in the group? What the fuck did he say to her?! I oughta punch him in the face when we get back!

I made it back to base where everyone was waiting for me... The note was crumpled in my hand from the fury boiling inside me. Everyone was looking at me wide eyed expecting to see Maddie at my side. I walked over to the table and slammed the note onto it. Jimmy started to walk forward. Ha. Little did he know. once I got about a foot in front of him I slammed my fist right into his stomach. He staggered backwards before falling to the ground. A gasp came from the girls while 2 of them ran over to help Jimmy up. The other 2 ran over to hold me back from another punch.

"Ian what was that?!" Adam said.

"What did you say to her!" I screamed at Jimmy. "What did you do!"

"W-what are you talking about?" Jimmy said all innocent. Does he think I'm stupid?

"Read the note and tell me you didn't do anything!" Jimmy walked to the table and grasped the note. I could see his hands shaking. How is he gonna dodge this one?

He started to speak with tears in his eyes. "Ian, I know what this looks like..."

I cut him off. "Yeah! I know you do and I won't believe a single one of your lies!" I walked off and took a left. I was going to be alone.
