We Were Soldiers
1964 was the year.
Families shed a tear.
For those they hold dear.
Their time of departure was near.
1964 was the year.
All the men's fear
They hit the ground knowing their chances were shear.
Most landed dead, just another soldier here.
1964 was the year.
Families shed a tear.
For those they hold dear.
And now they lay dead here.
In the fields of Vietnam.
