her wings were as fragile
as glass; one blow
and her soul would splinter
into a million pieces
shard after shard
heartbreak after heartbreak
she would pick them up
and mend her broken spirit
all over,as if nothing had
ever happened; nobody knew
she hid her scars too well
away from the light
in the shadows of her heart
then one day, he came along
pinned her down and broke
her soul once and for all
tore off her wings
robbed her of her life
so she would never
feel the same pain ever
again.
