The ocean.... a humongous body of water that surrounds the world. It emits a calming moving motion that can lure any creature in. Everything is calmingly quiet. The only sound that can be heard are the few waves crashing against the rocks on the coast. Unknowingly they are trapped in its depths. They wouldn't understand the fear they should have of its mysterious waters. How can something so alluring be so bad? Nobody would suspect the dangers that lurk in the deepest and darkest parts of this magnificent sight.
Humans are very unique, don't you think? They have come this far with their weird earthly objects. Technology, I think that's how they call it. Their boats stopped being made of wood, for the most part, and are now made of this hard material called metal. They have changed their style of language and covering garments too. It's astonishing seeing all these changes in such a short amount of time, I believe they were about a hundred years if I'm not mistaken. They are very interesting creatures of the land. Not many beings have been able to maintain my interest this long and for this I give them a pat on the back. Too bad I'm getting hungry, I would have liked watching them just a little bit longer.
A boat could be seen in the distance. It is unknowingly getting closer and closer to great danger. The sky is clear, the sea is calm, and everything is very wrong. One.... two....five people on the boat, all of them distracted in nothing but the chores that had to get done. They want to catch many fish for their family and loved ones waiting patiently at home. These fishermen thought it would be another smooth fish on another smooth day, but they were wrong and they were not prepared for what was coming. In actuality nobody is....nobody is prepared to die.
All I remember is that one moment everything was quiet and then the next I hear a beautiful melody being sung by a beautiful woman sitting on deck. Her black hair was wet and cascaded down her back and over her shoulders covering her chest. She was breathtaking. I had never heard such a beautiful melody and unknowingly I got closer. As I got closer she started retreating back into the water but I wanted more, I needed more. I proceeded into the water and when I was finally in front of her she changed her tune. It was sad and melancholic but breathtaking at the same time, and I mean it was literally breathtaking. As she changed her tune she pushed me under water and wouldn't let me come up to breath. The last thoughts I had were of how sorry I was for not being able to go back home and that I had finally noticed that instead of legs she had a tail, a fish tail.
I tried to tell them, I really did. I saw how they were being surrounded, how they were being dragged into the ocean, and how they were being drowned. I wanted to scream and tell them but it was too late.... I had already eaten half of the fisherman's stomach when I realised it was too late.
"The ocean is cruel
The ocean is sick
It leaves me dull....
How many more will it pick?"
