''Chen-oppa,'' Youngsoon called the professor who had just got a call from someone and had slid the phone into his pocket.
''Shoot.''
''Something strange and unexpected happened to me last night,'' She informed him as she looked away from her notebook in which she was doing her assignment and gazed at the figure beside her. The 'dream' she experienced the previous night distracted her from doing what she promised herself as soon as possible. L.joe disturbed her mind even more as she deliberated over the task she was given.
The female and Jongdae were in the staff office, still planning things out. The educator contacted the student who created the electric wave to see if there was any advance in their research. He also told her that she should meet up with Youngsoon in order to get her check her bruise and determine the accurate reason so she can help the latter. If Youngsoon comes to her, the student in question won't have to stay on this mission for long and it will be much easier for her to work on it. That girl won't need to do many trials in order to get the right outcome of her experiments. Youngsoon is meeting her the first day next week and she expects Chen's acquaintance to recognize something in her so the said girl can search for the needed stuff for her cure.
''Is it involved with the case we're investigating?'' He questioned, anticipating the news Youngsoon was going to say. They were both aware that every clue would lead to something big and thus, to a probable solution.
''Kind of.'' Because her problem partially had a role in it but the crux of the matter she was about to relate was the grand finale of it. And, in the end, she told him about the conversation between the blond-haired boy and herself and her assumption that she wasn't imagining stuff at all. Now that everything's possible, she can ponder every real or abnormal thing without doubting but wavering, being equivocal towards everything that she senses and feels.
''Do you believe in what that guy said?'' The professor looked at her unsurely. ''All I can tell you is that I still cannot comprehend all those details you recited. And I cannot assure you that I, myself, trust the eerie when I haven't got to know such dream as you did.''
''What if he really does know someone who owns the solution to my issue? Why would I dream about a place where forget-me-nots and that willow tree inhabit plus the guy who informed me all he learned when I can just imagine myself admitted into a music industry or having an everyday life as a boy? I could have imagined anything but the actual dream.''
Sadly, the female wasn't capable of answering her own couple of questions. She wasn't fully certain what was the possibility of the supernatural to exist but she was absolutely sure she was heading to somewhere outside my unusual routines.
''Maybe you have created a world different from ours and much to your liking.'' He shrugged his shoulders. But then he stopped. ''Although you aren't that kind of person who conceives for no particular reason.''
''Exactly.'' The girl agreed and kept her mind busy for a short while.
If she chooses to do the challenge L.joe or more like the enigmatic person who sent him assigned, there is a chance she will obtain the cure faster and she can return to her original condition. And if she doesn't accept this task, they are doomed. Youngsoon is doomed and will stay forever as a non-human. She does not wish to have any worries. She doesn't know what she will do if they fail to find a way to stop her transformations. Guess she has no other choice.
''You know what? I accept their challenge.''
The juvenile professor peered at her worriedly and with much uncertainty.
''Do you believe you can make it? Before the end of the year?''
From his questions of insecurity and anxiousness, Youngsoon felt very discouraged and glimpsed at her notebook. She had received philosophy homework; its topic: Describe music. Plan an essay in which you develop your point of view on the issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, observations, or, knowledge of subjects such as history, literature, science. A short and straightforward assignment but if you think a little more, you will realize the term music can be identified in infinite ways and it influences each person with mixed emotions and feelings and it allows each person to have different interpretations of it. Youngsoon may have elongated her essay with three more pages than necessary but she was extremely proud of her creative writing.
She started scrutinizing her piece of work. 'Life', 'dream', 'goal', 'another person'. Hold on. Why are the last two words there? The girl doesn't check twice her written masterpieces' because she was afraid that if she spots a single little error in them, she will have to fix it which means the neat handwriting will have a disturbance on the pages. The educator who teaches philosophy strictly told everyone who attended her classes including Youngsoon if she saw a writing having corrected mistakes, she would leave a minus next to the students' grades. Have three minuses and you'll get an F. The girl's essays' marks are either As or Bs, although she also has a minus. The truth behind the latter was her first task. She was well aware of the teacher's serious rules but the said person never mentioned using correction pen is prohibited. Youngsoon was the only student in the whole class with a red, merciless negative as her first mark. She really wanted to complain about it to somebody but I was nineteen, for crying out loud. She must have a mature and responsible outlook even if it will be a tough thing to do.
The female was not going to correct those two words. She had her reasons to write them in the notebook and they're remaining there forever on their page. She continued examining.
'Change', 'difficulties', 'help'.
Are these designations trying to imply something? She didn't choose to look at these words deliberately. Her eyes just fell on them in their own will.
'Motivation', 'solution', 'happiness'...
It's final.
''I must do it. If I'm given this chance, why should I waste it?'' She took a glance at Jongdae who was expecting a response from her. ''If I dismiss it, there'll be no good ending. There'll be a fatal future.''
The young man paced back and forth whilst covering his face with his left hand as the other was situated on his waist. He was also deeply concerned.
''I still have a feeling of dubiousness left in me.'' He spoke silently. ''But may the solution arrive fast.'' He finished with confidence. He attempted to grin which turned out to be an awkward, shy smile. ''How are you going to spy on Jungkook, though? You don't even know how he looks like. You need to be prepared if you have to babysit him?''
''L.joe will have to add some more information about him later.'' Youngsoon flashed her own signature smile. ''But I have a suggestion for my methods of my so-called babysitting.''
When she released her my explanation, his eyes grew bigger in astonishment. He almost looked like an owl.
''Girl, you are possessed by some madman. Are you convinced about this?''
The female student could only nod and let Chen ask her about it so he can be assured and save everything she had just said in his stunned mind.
