''How come you don't like Iron Man? He's like, the coolest Marvel character ever created!''
''Behind this Iron Man hides a rich Tony Stark whose cockiness exceeds the height of Mount Everest.''
''Why don't you just admit that he has a dope personality? Them girls dig some of him.'' Jungkook laughed cheekily as both he and Youngsoon (in the form of Dohyeong) strolled toward their bus stations. They had just visited a museum based on Marvel comics and had the chance to enrich their knowledge of them by viewing miniature-sized buildings and figures recreated by Lego blocks. The pair had no clue the whole exhibition would encompass the entire two floors of the building; they had almost got bored until they saw a large-scale version of the superheroes and the girl admired Jungkook's sparkling eyes and amusing smile after they saw his favorite-coated figurine.
''Um, not every girl likes that type of guys. Some girls prefer boys who are nicer, more... friendly, more... timid.'' Youngsoon imagined the perfect guy for herself. She can't see herself being together with somebody as overweening as Tony Stark. As much as he was greatly portrayed in the movies and comics, she was more infatuated with the nice guys. Like Jungkook.
The aforementioned person grew curious at the other's daydreaming face. ''Are you sure they don't just secretly have crushes on adventurous men? I don't think would have anything to do with boring people.''
''I'm not saying they like boring people but they certainly dislike show-offs.''
''It depends on how those ''show-offs'' do it. If they execute it in a classy way, that might make girls interested.''
But that didn't mean Youngsoon would be intrigued. She had already set her eyes on somebody who was far more suitable in her league than Tony Stark. Had she wished she could tell him that he was the one she felt more attracted to. That he was the one whose occasional daring she would be inclined to tolerate as long as it is in a small dose. That he was the one whom she would choose to be in love with and nobody else. Not even a superhero. Just a normal guy (although no ordinary at all if we count his artistic skills) she looked up to and cared.
Yet, the one thing Youngsoon wasn't able to ignore was something that intercepted her confession to Jungkook and it shattered her heart each time she thought about her feelings toward the male.
Her curse.
She had dreamed about how she would be the girl she had always been for the last eighteen years and come up to him and admit all the emotions that she had held captive for who knows how long for this boy and each day with each look at his direction she couldn't stop letting her heart react weirdly excitedly. She didn't need a fancy occasion or an ideal location or a perfect timing to do it. She would be grateful if it just happened. It was a pity, however, the female had developed a friendship with Jungkook as Dohyeong, not as her true self. There was no way Youngsoon would appear as herself and confess. There was no relevant history between them and their two encounters couldn't be even reckoned in this matter. If only circumstances were different; timely, place-wise and reason-wise different.
When will I be able to be honest with Jungkook? Will this drag on?
''Can I ask you something?''
The boy didn't expect Dohyeong's question; nonetheless, he nodded.
''So I have this friend... and that person didn't guess they would have feelings towards another person after knowing them for some time now.'' Even when she had referred herself in a subtle manner, Youngsoon sensed her face temperature rising. ''Normally, my friend should say that they like the other person at some point...'' She heaved a deep sigh and looked up at the boy, longingly. ''But the catch is, from the very start, they didn't introduce themselves as who they really are due to a certain reason.''
