There were people watching us. A bright light was directly on us. Everything and everyone was silent. We were on a stage, made of wood. We wore shirts. One was red the other green. I walked up to a microphone that was placed in front of us. I picked it up, and spoke. "Hi every-" The microphone gave a loud unsatisfying sound that hurt my eardrums. The crowd covered their ears. So did the person next to me, wearing green. It was just the two of us on stage. He walked up to the microphone and fixed it. His high pitched voice filled my ears. "Sorry about that! Anyways, my name is Green, and this is my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Red." He gave me the microphone. "And today we're going to sing a song about Pokémon! We made it all up on our own!" I enthusiastically announced. Parents smiled at us, and smaller kids than us were whispering to each other. Our teacher turned on background music that perfectly matched our song. "I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was." Started off Green. "To catch them is my real test, to train them is my cause." He handed me the microphone. My turn. "I would travel across the land, searching far and wide. Each Pokémon to understand the power that's inside.." I put the microphone in the middle of us. "Pokémon gotta catch em all! It's you and me." I felt Green's hand rest on my back. "I know it's our destiny! Pokémon! Oh you're my best friend, in a world we must defend!" We sang and sang. All of a sudden, the flashing lights disappeared, and darkness took over... I opened my eyes. It was night. Green and I ran far into the jungle, safe for now at least. We were on a mountain. The ocean wasn't visible, just the darkness of the trees. It was just another flash back from elementary school days.. I found myself laying down on Green's lap, his hand on my head. "I see you've woken up." I heard him say. I turned my head around, still on his lap. I was looking up at him now. "Yeah. Aren't you tired?" Green shook his head. "No. I'm not tired when I'm scared." He was scared. I need to make him feel safe. "I'll keep you safe." His face turned darker, you couldn't see what color it was because of the night but I knew he blushed. "Shut up." He murmured and looked away, smiling. I grabbed his arm and hugged it. He looked down at me.I felt his gaze pierce into mine. Our eyes were locked together. I wish this moment never ended. Right then, a sound came from the bushes. Our gaze broke, and we quickly turned around. I picked my head off of Green's lap. The sound grew louder. Footsteps.. Then, a shadow crept out. No, not one shadow, but two of them...
