[C.3] The roller coaster that is life <3

#CHAPTER 3#

*Jessie’s POV*

The phone rang.

“Jessie! It’s for you!” my mum said appearing at my bedroom door. I quickly grabbed the phone out of her hand and closed the door.

“Hello?”

“I can’t come” Nicole sobbed down the phone. What did she mean she couldn't come?" This was terrible!

“Oh no! Do you want to come over and talk?” I asked sympathetically.

“I can’t, I’ve got too much homework. Thanks though.”

“Okay” I said. And she hung up. I could tell she was more upset than she was letting on. I needed to do something about it but I didn’t know what.

Everything was going great today, until Nicole told us she might not be able to make it. The day just won’t be the same if she’s not there. She’s always so happy and hilarious! She makes everyone happy. Not only that but, if she can’t come, who am I supposed to invite? It’d be a bit awkward if they knew I only invited them because Nicole couldn’t make it. I know how much this means to her as well, she’ll be so disappointed if she can’t come. But her step dad does seem quite nice, so maybe he’ll let her come, if he did, I think she’d love him more.

*Chloe’s POV*

*beep*

I’d got a text. I opened it.

“Come around now? I need to talk to you guys. Jessie x”

I grabbed my coat and boots, not caring if they matched, this was urgent. I raced down the road to Jessie’s house. Luckily, it only took me a few minutes. I knocked the front door and her mum let me in. I walked into Jessie’s room, the others were already there, except for Nicole.

“Just got to wait for Nicole” I assumed. Jessie shook her head. I gave her a confused look.

“Nicole can’t come to meet One Direction.” She explained. This was annoying.

“Great” I said sarcastically.

“But” she continued “I have a plan.” A smile grew across her face. A look of confusion was upon everyone else’s. Jess picked up the phone and began to phone Nicole. Her step-dad picked up. Jessie put it onto speaker phone.

“Hello” A man answered on the other end of the phone, probably John, Nicole's step-dad.

“Hi, is that John?”

“Yeah it is”

“It’s Jessie”

“Hang on I’ll just get Nicole.”

“Actually, I was wondering if I could speak to you?” now I understood her plan, she was going to persuade him. Jessie can be really persuading sometimes, she’s always winning disagreements, hopefully this would be another victory.

“Errrm, okay?” John sounded worried.

“Well, I’m sure you know what I want to talk about. I was just hoping to maybe change your mind.”

“Really?”

“Yes, now, Nicole is a huge One Direction fan, as I’m sure you know, and for her to meet them would just make her dreams come true. I know you’re not allowing her to go because you want to bond with her. But, by stopping her from going she’ll hold a grudge against you and you really wouldn’t bond as much as you’d hope too. But, if you were to change your mind, she’d be so grateful to you and would probably love you more than if you were to stop her from going. Do you see what I mean?” Gosh, she was persuading.

“I suppose, but, if I were to let her stay behind and we were all to go on holiday, I’d be worried about her staying at home by herself all night.”

“John, don’t worry, she and all the girls can come for a sleepover at my house. That way we can make sure we all get enough beauty sleep and then in the morning we can make sure we all look absolutely gorgeous.” Kate explained, John laughed. This was a good sign.

“If you’re sure?” he asked.

“Of course I’m sure!” A smile grew across every one’s face’s.

“Okay then” he said, chuckling.

“Thank you so much John!”

“I suppose I’d better go tell her the good news then!” he said cheerfully. “Oh, and by the way, you’re very persuading!”

“I’ve been told that!” and she hung up. She turned to the rest of us.

“I should defiantly be a lawyer or something like that. I’m 15 and just managed to persuade a 40 year old man to change his mind” We all laughed and cheered. This was brilliant as Zayn would say; “the rollercoaster that is life”
