The 23rd expedition had begun. Water poured from the dark clouds on the green grass outside the walls. Your first expedition since you joined the Survey Corps.
The horse you rode on neighed softly causing you to pet the animal's manes for a bit. It had been a few hours since you left the walls. Your hair and green cloak whipped in the wind harshly.
After getting in formation, the whole Survey Corps was divided into smaller groups.
Your beloved brother Levi, was right next to you with Farlan and Isabel were riding on their horses behind you. With the same stern look he had in his eyes, he turned to look at you. "[Y/N]... I have the plan on how to kill Erwin"
"Do what you have to do. I trust you.." You replied, ignoring his gaze and looking straight forward into the cloudy fog. He nodded his head, holding the reigns to his horse tightly.
"We'll scout ahead, with this rain we won't be able to see anything. [Y/N], you stay here" Levi explained.
"Wait, what? That doesn't make any fucking sense? I can help, I'm not weak, Levi!" You objected, clenching your fists.
"Please listen to me for once, don't be such a stubborn brat! I'll do anything that takes to protect you, so just sit back and hold on tight. I can't risk your life! Farlan, Isabel and I will make sure we succeed this mission, whatever it takes, we'll come back for you, I promise, [Y/N]"
You sighed, agreeing with his plan eventhough you were completely against it. Anything for your brother, even if it meant for you to not do anything. "Alright, I'll be counting on you then. You too, Farlan and Isabel." You looked at the other two people in your little friend group.
"Ofcourse, big sister [Y/N]! You can count on us!" Isabel chimed in, puffing out her cheeks. God.. how much you loved that ray of sunshine. "We'll definitely succeed, after all, who's going to keep Levi in check after?" The dirty blonde male joked, Levi replying with his signature 'Tch'.
"Let's go" Levi said, before snapping the reigns on his horse, speeding up with Farlan and Isabel right on his tail. They went right, until you couldn't see them anymore. Them leaving you behind in the cloudy fog.

It had been a while since then. Everything was quiet, maybe a little too quiet for your liking. The only sounds you could hear were the hoofs of your horse hitting the ground and your 3DMG clattering against your thighs. Tfact that fog was thick as hell didn't help, since you couldn't see any flares. It got you irritated.
You stopped your horse somewhere next to a tree, making sure it could take a short break. You didn't want a Titan catching up to you because the animal was too tired.
You heard some kind of rumbling from somewhere around you. Now highly focused on it, you looked around you. Yet you saw nothing. Maybe it was just your paranoia acting up.
You pulled on the reigns, ready to take off again. You heard the rumbling again, it shook up the whole ground. You reached for your swords in your 3DMG carefully. Suddenly, a Titan rose up from beneath the ground, dirt and grass falling of its head and shoulders. Its huge mouth grinning right at you. Before you could react, the Titan reached out its hand towards you and slammed you away with your horse. You fell off your horse, however the animal was smashed against the tree, dying from intact immediately, blood splattering everywhere.
You fell and rolled on the ground a bit farther away. You got up on your legs again, glaring at the ugly beast with your swords in your hands. The Titan reached out to you again. Before it could grab you, you jumped on its hand and ran right to its shoulder and did a little spin before plunging the swords deep in its nape.
You jumped of the Titan, staring at your bloodied swords. "Disgusting".
Checking on your 3DMG, you came to realise it was jammed and unable to be used. You cursed and ran back to the horse. Placing a hand on its head, you stared at the sight with an unreadable expression.
You slumped down the tree, next to the blood splatters of your now dead horse that stained the wet bark. And for the first time in a while, you felt panicked. No 3DMG, no horse, no food. What were you going to do? You hugged your Survey Corps cloak closer, hoping it would warm you for a bit.
The you heard Levi's words in your head. He was going to save you, after all, he promised to come back for you. And that was all you hoped for in that moment. So you waited.

That was a long time ago. Your brother never arrived. He didn't keep his promise. You couldn't blame him, never in your life. Your beloved brother probably couldn't find you, you strayed far from the group and the formation anyway.
Months, years, you didn't know how long you were stuck outside the walls. You learnt how to survive. You got stronger. But at what cost? Sleeping on tall trees, sneaking around Titans, hunting for food, scavenging things off dead bodies, was that worth it?
Even though you became stronger, you became more dull. The little light you had in your eyes when you wee around your brother faded away over the years. You seemed lifeless, no smiles, no tears.. nothing. But you had a goal, the only thing that drove you to survive for so long.
You were going to find your way back. You were going to see your brother and friends again. You were sure of it.
