'It feels like a tear in my heart, like a part of me missing and I just can't feel it. I've tried and I've tried.'

Carter

Two weeks have gone by since my eighteenth birthday and not much has changed. I've been going to my appointments every week and spending my free time with Harry.

I was recently asked to join the girl's school football team but I denied the request, as I don't think my lungs would be able to keep up with the amount of training and games.

Today we were meeting Louis' girlfriend, Izzy. I was excited to meet the girl who seemed to make Louis happy all the time. She was an exchange student from Madrid and I haven't met her properly yet. I've caught a glimpse of her in the hallway but Louis tends to disappear with her at lunches and breaks, doing God knows what.

He took my advice and asked Izzy to be his girlfriend as soon as we got back from Greece. We barely got to see Louis as he was always with her and I could tell that Harry was slightly upset by it since he didn't get time to hang out with his best friend as often as he did before.

Louis decided that he would finally introduce his girlfriend to us today, wanting her to become part of our little 'group'.

We were all waiting for the pair to show up in the cafeteria. "I hope she doesn't turn out to be an evil bitch like Peyton." Zayn said, eating his cold pasta.

"Not every girl is like Peyton, Zayn, which is a good thing." I told him.

"Yeah, if the whole female population was like Peyton, I would probably be planning ways to murder myself right now." Liam said.

"She's not that bad guys, I've already met her and she seemed pretty nice. She's really clever too." Niall informs us, being the only person that's actually come face to face with the girl.

"Let's just hope he's found a keeper." Harry huffed as he saw Louis walk into the cafeteria, hand in hand with a tall, brunette girl. She had olive skin and long, brown hair, her eyes were a light blue and her smile could light up a whole room. It made me feel kind of intimidated at how pretty she actually was.

Louis pointed towards our table and they made their way over to us. "Hey guys, this is Izzy." He greeted and Izzy smiled at all of us and sat down.

"I'm Carter." I held my hand out for her to shake which she happily returned.

"You're the cancer girl... I'm sorry about what you are going through." Harry coughed and wrapped his arm around my waist.

I wasn't really surprised she referred to me as the cancer girl. That's how everyone else saw me these day and she was an exchange student, I had to cut her some slack. "It's okay. I'm just lucky it's not as bad as it could be." I muttered, knowing that the cancer was still spreading.

It was silent for a while, until I decided to speak up, "So Izzy, Louis tells us that you're from Spain."

"Yes, Madrid to be precise. I'm going back next month I think but I don't really want to go back yet. As much as I miss my home, I love exploring new places." She explained and I smiled, realizing we had one thing in common.

"Have you explored any other places?" I asked, generally interested in the places she's travelled.

"I've been to New York on a school trip and I've been to Morocco, which was incredible, but my favorite place I've been was Brazil, the atmosphere was insane!" She laughed and told us about her experience in Brazil. I was almost jealous that she'd been to so many places but was happily listening to her ramble on about her time in the many different countries she's been to.
