Hi there, this is my first story on Wattpad. It's an idea that's been sitting in mind for a couple years now, but this is the first time I'm actually writing those ideas down. I am completely open to critiques, as the plot of this is still forming itself as we speak :)
A few things:
1. You can take the cast list with a pinch of salt if you want. I just made one because it sounded fun, but it was actually really hard finding people who looked exactly how I pictured the characters in my head. There's only a few that look EXACTLY how I wanted them to, but the other ones are nice substitutes. I thought I'd be a little accurate with the ages for the cast as well, seeing as a lot of the stories on here use actors/models that are at least 30 to play high schoolers. It can be a bit misleading sometimes, so most of the cast is like 16, save for Hailee of course. Again, you don't actually have to pay attention to the list, I know some people like them, some people ignore them completely, some people hate them because they don't fit the character, etc, all of which are totally understandable.
2. This book is very, very, VERY loosely based on real life experiences (I say loosely because the last thing I need is someone I know going "HEY IS THIS ABOUT ME???"...if you have to ask, it's not). I've been on four different badminton teams in my life and the characters are all sorta a hodge podge of all the super cool people I've met on each of them. That being said, if the amount of diversity in this book feels "unrealistic" to you, I'll let you know right now that it's completely realistic. The team I'm on right now is completely people of color, including myself, except for the captain. I've seen people of all different shades and sizes on these teams, so if you see anything in this as "forced diversity" well...lmao.
3. I'm not entirely sure how often this will update. I wrote the first chapter over two weekends, so maybe a chapter every two weeks? I can't confirm that though, I'm in college and the beginning of the semester is always pretty hectic. I WILL finish this though, so no worries there. It's just a matter of if this gets posted on a weekly or monthly basis. I'll make up for the potential wait by making the chapters long.
