Chapter five - Heartbreak

When Hermione woke up, it was as if it was all a dream it didn't happen. She woke up at 7:00 and drank a potion to clean herself up and she stuffed her stuff into her school bag. she ran down the stairs of the clock tower and went to first lesson. Transfiguration, she could she that ginger freak and his new curly haired girlfriend, Lavender. She told herself that she was over him, like her mom told her when you see an ex with their new partner to feel proud because you have given to the less fortunate. She felt a tap on the shoulder, she turned to see Harry. "How's your nose?" she asked him. "It's alright now. Hey, me and Ginny are going to hogsmeade later, Do you want to come?" He waited for her reply. After a moment she replied with a yes. Just then Professor Mcgonagall appeared and then the class flooded into her classroom.

Hermione took a seat and Harry joined her. "Harry, I have something to tell you" She muttered to him. "Go ahead Herm!" She turned to look at him and he was watching her carefully. "Me an-and Draco hav-are..." "Miss Granger will you be quiet and pay attention please?" It was Professor Mcgonagall. "Oh sorry Professor" She said quietly. "Hermione, carry on" Harry whispered. "Me and Draco are dating" "YOU WHAT?" "MR POTTER! WILL YOU BE QUIET? BREAK TIME DETENTION WITH ME!" The transfiguration teacher screamed. "YOU TOO MISS GRANGER!" she said glaring at Hermione. "But I have one with Snape!" She replied. "I COULDN'T CARE LESS!" "WELL I COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT THIS LESSON!" Hermione kicked over the chair and stormed out of the classroom.

She sat in the clock tower until 10:45PM when she had the erge to go somewhere. She went down to Hagrid's, banging on the door. A moment later the door opened and it was Hagrid. "Oh it's you, sorry but you're gonna have to leave" She looked behind Hagrid and Professor Dumbledore was there aswell as the Minister for magic. Hagrid slipped her a note. Then the door closed. She opened the note. It read 'Hermione, I love you, meet me at the top of the astronomy tower at 11:00 - Draco' She looked down at her ticking watch. Tick tock, tick tock. It was 10:55. She shoved the note into her pocket and ran, ran as if her life depended on it. When she reached the foot of the tower she looked at her watch. Tick tock, tick tock,10:59. She ran up and saw a sad looking Draco peering over the edge. She cleared her thoat. "Tick tock, tick tock. That is all I hear and its driving me insane. That is why I called you hear tonight" He said turning to face her but not looking at her. "Draco? Why is your wand ... Oh Draco please don't!" she pleaded. "I'm sorry Hermione" His eyes and face as cold as stone. Tears rolling down her cheeks, she closed her eyes and held her breath she was left brokenhearted. "Obliviate..." He whispered when she opened her eyes, He jumped off the tower.
