Chapter eight - End of the war - Part two

Tick, tock

Tick, tock 

Tick, tock 

Am I dead or asleep? Hermione thought. She realized that she must be asleep  as she was near the bottom of the black lake. She started to swim up towards the surface. She saw things up on the water. The water that was lit up by moonlight. The more she swam the harder it got. When she surfaced she saw what those things were. They were bodies. They were the bodies of her friends they people she knew. She screamed and forced herself to wake up. She was still in the great hall, she was the only person in there. She felt much better and sat up. A wave of dizziness hit her. As she stood up, she saw Professor Mcgonagall talking to some Gryffindors. "Boom!" she shouted. Hermione watched carefully and once they had passed she made a move. She left the opposite way to which Mcgonagall went. Going up the grand staircase, she heard some familliar voices. She moved quicker, towards the voices. Turning the corner she saw the owner of the voices. It was Harry, Ron and Fred. Hermione listened in. "Harry, Lupin and Tonks are dead!" It was Ron. "So is Snape, Harry? Harry! This is important" Hermione accidentally knocked over a metal plate. "Who's there?" Harry said. Hermione stood up. "Oh hey Herm!" Harry said cheerfully. "I know, you know, I know that I'm a horcrux" Harry said. "What?" Fred and Ron said in chorus. Hermione started crying. "Don't cry." He said wrapping his arms around her. "I will always be in your heart" "I'll go with you! Hermione sobbed. "No Hermione. I need you to go up and watch over the astronomy tower. Ron is going down to help Mcgonagall. I will miss you Hermione, chin up!" Harry said in her ear. He kissed her on the cheek and left. They all went their separate ways. Still  crying she went up with Fred.

Sitting with her feet dangling over the side of the tower, she watched Harry's silhouette enter the forbidden forest. She felt a hand on her shoulder. Tick, tock. "Get off Fred!" She said standing up angrily. "I HATE YOU!!" She shouted. "What's going on Herm?" Fred asked nervously. Hermione pointed her wand towards his chest. Tick, tock. Backing away, Fred looked as if he had seen a ghost. "YOU HEARD ME, GET AWAY FROM ME. I HATE YOU!" She screamed. "What on earth?" Fred was against the barrier now, Hermione's wand still at his chest. Tick, Tock. Something was wrong, Hermione could'nt think straight. She could just hear Tick, tock repeating itself. She fell to the ground, it felt like a tonne of bricks had been dropped on her. After that feeling had past it was like she had been dropped in freezing cold water at such a force that she could'nt breathe, all the oxygen had been knocked out of her. She closed her eyes, trying to numb the pain. Although it did not help she could'nt see Fred anymore. Tick, tock, tick, tock. It was getting louder now. She opened her eyes and stood up. "Go ahead then Hermione, Two words, one spell, dead me"  Tears steaming down her face, she pointed her wand towards the ginger boy. "Avada Kedarvra!" she said. The light left his eyes and he fell over the barrier and he plummeted to the ground. She ran at the barrier and jumped over it, with her arms out like a bird, or an angel. It gave the impression as if she was flying. "Mi corazon tendras siempre" She said as she started hurtling to the ground. She knew that she had'nt killed Fred and why she heard tick, tock. It was Voldemort.
