Roll around... Fidget... Turn the pillow the other way round... Roll around... Fidget... Repeat.

That has pretty much been my night routine throughout the past week.

Why does it take me so long to fall asleep?

Let me see...

Is it... The relief of not having to complete homework due to not having a school to go to at the moment?

Or... The stress of moving?

Or... The gut-wrenching, head throbbing, body failing thought of being purposely- or accidentally- crushed to death by someone more than 20 times taller than you?

Someone a lot taller than a flipping BUILDING!

I guess I should probably get to the point now...

My name is Maya, and I live with my two average parents and two younger sisters. Freya is the youngest- she turned ten a few weeks ago, and my other sister's name is Alicia- who is 15 years old. I'm the oldest child, 16!

I live in a world consisting of both humans and giants. My youngest sister has adapted well; accepting the fact that larger beings are living among us. Alicia and I, however, still fail to cope.

When we were younger, Alicia, I, and our parents lived in a remote area where it was extremely rare to even catch sight of a giant. It was relaxing, and a little boring, I guess since there wasn't much to do.

It was just an endless cycle of the same thing. I occasionally made up stories and hung around with Alicia when I was at my worst.

This was until our dad found it difficult to travel to the city and back home again. So surprise surprise- we had to move.

It has merely been a few weeks or so, and my parents have been debating whether or not to send us to a mixed school with both humans and giants. My first thought was a human school, but my mum continued to lecture me about how we all need to learn how to cope with Giants if we are to remain in the city.

I understand what she means, and I don't think I'm ready to hide away from them forever.

This fantastic area in which I live is owned by a King who expects us to all come in contact and treat each other equally- never to disregard or harm one another. Breaking those rules would have serious consequences.

I do not even wish to know what those consequences may be.

I quickly glanced at the clock that read '10:30 am' and hesitantly got out of bed.

I looked next to me where an empty, unmade bed stood. I guess Alicia is up and ready.

We were currently staying with my parents' friend. She's a nice lady (human) and let us stay with her while my parents were preparing the house.

I quickly got dressed; eyeing myself up a little in the mirror to make sure I didn't look stupid.

You look good today, Maya.

Why, thank you, Maya.

Anytime Maya.

Okay, I really need to stop...
