"Let's just go downstairs," I huffed, shaking my head.
"Mm nope, I still don't feel like it..." Dylan mumbled, gently prodding my cheek with his fingertip.
It was evident that we would not be going downstairs anytime soon. I mean, I wouldn't exactly be missing out on much. However, I didn't think I could stand being around this colossal idiot a second longer.
Abruptly, the giant shook me again, clearly not enjoying my lack of response. I grumbled in annoyance as the motion made me feel nauseous. I had an urge to close my eyes, but for some reason, I couldn't manage to keep them shut.
I felt more butterflies in my stomach as I started imagining what it would be like to go to school with him. I then remembered that it wouldn't just be with Dylan - it would be with many other giants as well. My heartbeat quickened as I began thinking of more and more scenarios. A school for giants and humans? How would that even work?
How many other humans would there be?
Human bullies? Dreadful. But giant bullies? Oh gosh.
Why would anyone create this school ever?
I slowly dragged my gaze up to his impatient face, my mouth unintentionally agape.
"What is the school like?" I questioned suddenly, biting my bottom lip.
Dylan looked confused for a second, raising his eyebrows. My question was entirely unexpected, but he was the only person who could answer it right now.
Without another word, he strolled over to his desk and simply prodded me off of his hand onto the hard surface, kneeling down to make eye contact with me.
"I got bored of holding you," he shrugged, examining my body as if I were some sort of rare artefact.
It made me feel very uncomfortable.
"You didn't answer my question," I scowled, folding my arms over my chest.
He placed his hand next to me - his finger accidentally brushing against my leg as he moved his hand. I took another moment to gawk at his finger; it took everything inside me not to shudder in the presence of a hand so huge.
"School is school. There's no point in me explaining it to you. You will just have to go and see for yourself," he stated simply, now drumming his fingertips on the desk beneath me. "You never know, you could end up enjoying it. That is if you don't get squashed," he added tauntingly.
Apparently, everything was a joke to him, and he clearly didn't respect me at all. I peered into his glistening green eyes, suddenly feeling a lot more anxious than I had previously - if that was possible.
"If I could backhand you I really would," I retorted, attempting to hide the uneasiness in my voice. I wondered if it was worth asking him any questions at all since he didn't want to cooperate. "Seriously though, is there a separate section for humans? How is it in any way safe for me?" I asked, my voice a lot quieter than before.
Dylan found Maya very amusing. He knew she was feeling uneasy, but he didn't care for humans at all - especially her. The teen was not looking forward to going to school with her himself; he could only imagine how embarrassing it would be. The giant couldn't believe he had to walk through the gates with someone so minuscule and insignificant.
So in the meantime, he wanted to tease her. Maybe he could make some stuff up to frighten her more? Her reactions were laughable.
"No, humans and giants are in the same section," he responded, ensuring he wore a serious expression.
