A/N: Hello there! This chapter might be a little bit shorter than the last but it's just kinda a filler chapter, the next one is where things get a little more interesting.
Anyways, enjoy!
Millie stared at herself in the mirror, her excitement for the night to come hard to contain.
They had gone for a rather fancy restaurant, despite Millie's arguing. Winona had texted them the location and once Millie had looked it up, she immediately texted her protests among the group chat they had formed. It wasn't the fanciness that bothered Millie, it was the cost.
Winona insisted she would pay for it, and somewhere along the line, Millie had agreed. Winona was very good at convincing.
Noah and Sadie were both excited, buzzing with delight and Sadie texting her asking about the following night.
"So where are you guys going to meet?" Millie's mother questioned, tilting her head with a glint of curiosity in her eye.
"Noah said he'd drive us here to meet up with Noni." Millie said as she applied her mascara.
"Isn't he a little too young to drive?" Mrs. Brown folded her arms. "He's only fifteen."
"Yeah, fifteen, mum." Millie said, adding a little lipstick to her look. "Old enough for a learner's permit. Don't ask me about his driving, or how he avoids being pulled over, because I've never wrapped my head around it."
"Alright then. What time should he be here?" Mrs.Brown said with a sigh.
"He's quite predictable." Millie said, glancing at her alarm clock on her bedside table.
She smiled, holding up three fingers and then counting them down.
Mrs.Brown furrowed her eyebrows, confused but still curious.
The moment Millie put her index finger down, the doorbell rang.
"Oh." Millie's mother said as Millie flashed her a smirk. "I'll go get that."
"Tell him I'll be right down!" Millie called after her mother.
Millie checked herself once more in the mirror. Once she was sure she looked fine, she tabbed her clutch and made her way down the stairs, just in time to hear Noah greeting her mother.
"Hey, Noah." Millie said, stewing off the last stair.
"Hey, Mills." Noah replied with a grin. "You look great."
"Oh." Millie said quietly with a blush. "Thanks. You look great, too."
"Nah." Noah said with a shake of his head. "Just something casual. I don't really do fancy."
"Alrighty then. You kids have a fun night." Mrs. Brown smiled warmly at the two, before ushering them out the door.
They both laughed, getting in Noah's Lamborghini. Millie never knew how he needed up with such a car, her mother definitely wouldn't allow that, especially when she wasn't even sixteen, yet.
Noah set the address into his phone and they were on their way.
"So, have you looked over your script, yet?" Noah glanced over at her for a second before directing his attention to the road in front of him.
"Not really." Millie answered him, crossing her legs and leaning back. "You?"
"I've looked at the first few scenes." Noah said. "You're really gonna need your best for this one."
"I'll make sure to give it." Millie looked at him for a few moments, before turning her head.
"That sounds like you." Noah commented with a smirk. "Always giving it your all, doing your best, putting your heart into everything you do. It's pretty cool."
Millie blushed at the admiration in his voice.
"Just the way I was raised, I guess." Millie stared out the window, watching signs and people go by in blurs.
"Yeah." Noah's voice softened slightly.
Millie knew why, but she didn't want to think it.
"How long does it take to get there, anyway?" Millie said, tapping her foot anxiously.
"Actually," Noah began as they took a turn. "Were already here."
Millie's eyes widened as she saw the towering building before her. There were flowers surrounding it and the bushes were trimmed nicely.
"Wow." Millie breathed, earning a chuckle from Noah.
"It really is something, isn't it?" Noah smiled, looking up at the fancy lights that decorated the restaurant.
"Yeah." Millie said as she stepped out of the car, followed by Noah.
He offered her his arm jokingly, adding in a "Shall we, m'lady?"
"But of course." Millie said, fanning herself to add to their charade.
She took his arm and they walked inside.
Once they walked in, they were both awestruck. The carpet was red and there were lights shining everywhere. All around them, people were dining and clinking glasses with each other, laughing and chatting amongst themselves.
Millie almost felt uncomfortable in this environment. Sometimes she didn't exactly like the celebrity treatment.
"Ah, yes." A man said as they approached the host's desk. "How may I help you?"
"We're meeting up with two other people. We should have a reservation under Ryder." Noah said.
"Of course. Right this way." The host said with a smile.
He guided them to a table where Winona and Sadie were making small talk over their waters.
"Here you are." The man said. "Enjoy your night."
Winona and Sadie looked up, both with wide smiles.
Winona rose from her seat to greet the two teenagers.
"Hey guys." She said, giving them both hugs.
"Hey Noah, Millie." Sadie nodded at them with a grin as they took their seats.
"Hey Sadie." They both said in unison.
A waiter approached their table with a wide grin on his face.
He handed them all menus. "May I start you off with some drinks?"
Filler Chapter. Finn will be in the next chapter for sure, and things will get a little more interesting.
Until next time, loves! Xoxo
