I'm baaaaaccckkkkk. Hello, lovely people! I finally have time for an update today but it's also really late so if it's terrible please cut me some slack.
Well, hope you all enjoy!
"Three months?!" Finn's mother exclaimed, disbelief dripping from her voice.
"Yeah, mom." Finn replied, hanging his head low. "I need to find her."
"Three months..." His mother repeated, massaging her temples as she began to pace.
"Mom, please." Finn lifted his eyes up to look at his mom. "I have to find her, I have to."
At this point, he was choking up. The words he attempted to speak felt heavy in his throat, and he couldn't hold back the tears that were waiting so eagerly to leave his eyes.
He couldn't take it, he couldn't.
Finn collapsed back into the chair his mother kept at the desk in her room, burying his face in his hands as sobs began to wrack his body.
His mother immediately stopped pacing to turn to him.
"Oh, Finn, honey..." She sighed as she walked over to him, rubbing his shoulders as he cried.
After a few moments, she spoke.
"You're going to find her, sweetie." She said quietly. "You will."
"J-Just me?" Finn asked, looking up at her with red, puffy eyes.
"I have a business meeting I have to attend in Utah." His mother explained. "I'll give you everything you need. You can take the car, I'll give you cash, anything you need."
Finn almost couldn't believe the words his mother was throwing at him.
"Why?" He asked quietly. "Why would you give me all that?"
Finn's mother chuckled, but it was a forced one.
"I remember I made it my mission to find your father when he had only five years left to live. I thought he would've stumbled into my life, but instead I had to find him first." She continued. "I cherished every moment I spent with him, and you'll be doing the same."
Clear tears slowly dropped down his mother's cheeks before she wiped them away.
"Go on." She patted Finn's shoulder." Go get packed. I'll call Gaten and Caleb's mothers."
"Wait, why?" Finn questioned as he stood up.
"You're not going alone. I'll tell them that they're going with you, if they would like to. If not, I could always call up Aunt Gina-"
"No, no, no, that's fine." Finn interrupted, flailing his arms slightly.
"Alright." His mother said. "Go get them. You have to leave tomorrow."
"Alright, I'll let them know." Finn responded, stepping out of her room to talk to his awaiting friends.

"She has what?" Winona yelped in disbelief.
Noah remained quiet, still taking in the results the doctor had given them about Millie.
Sadie stood next to Noah, mouth hung open with tears eyes.
"I'm terribly sorry, ma'am..." The doctor shook his head. "But Millie has been diagnosed with lung cancer."
Winona grabbed fistfuls of her hair, tears already trailing down her face.
Noah didn't respond. He fell back against the wall, slumping down into a sitting position. He looked utterly hopeless and defeated by the broken expression he was wearing.
Sadie soon joined him, openly crying her eyes out for all to see.
"Ma'am." The doctor gently put a hand on Winona's shoulder. "She still hasn't woken up yet."
"What?!" Winona cried, whirling around to face him.
It took Noah about ten seconds to register that. He finally turned his eyes to the doctor.
"We're not sure what's happening. It might be her body's reaction to the sudden symptoms she experienced." The doctor explained slowly.
He was done. He couldn't take it anymore.
Noah sprung up from his spot, turning Winona's attention to him.
"Noah?" She asked as he began walking down the hall, towards the elevator. "Noah!"
Sadie looked down the hall as Noah pressed the button to call the elevator.
Winona held up a hand to the doctor, signaling him that she'd be right back.
"Stay here, Sads." She said gently to the red head. "In case she wakes up, she needs someone to be here."
Sadie nodded her understanding to the woman, who promptly took down the hall as the elevator doors closed, Noah inside.
With a huff, Winona started down the stairs of the hospital, instead.
When she finally made it out of the hospital, she was just in time to see Noah getting into his Lamborghini, which he had trusted his dad to drive over.
"Noah! Wait!" Winona shouted as Noah was about to get in the car.
He paused in his actions, looking up at her with steely eyes.
"You can't just leave!" Winona said as she approached him.
"Why?" Noah asked quietly.
"What if Millie wakes up and needs to see you? You can't just leave her like this, especially when she needs you the most!" Winona couldn't help but raise her voice.
Noah looked at the ground, contemplating his decisions.
After what seemed like hours to them both, he looked up.
"Okay." He said, his voice barely a whisper.
He shut his car door and walked over to Winona, who engulfed him in a hug.
"Noah..." She sighed, rubbing his back.
Noah was right when he said Winona was like his mom, and he couldn't have been more thankful for that than right now.
"I'm sorry." Noah said quietly.
"It's okay. It's all going to be okay." Winona reassured him.
She thanked her lucky stars that she was good at acting because she had no idea if Millie would be alright or not.
"Come on." Winona said to Noah, parting from the embrace. "Let's go."
The two entered the hospital once more, an uncomfortable silence hanging over them like a dark cloud.
They finally ran into the doctor on the third floor, where Millie's X-ray had been done.
"Oh! Um, you must be looking for Millie." He said, readjusting his glasses.
"It's fine, Doctor Evans." A nurse said as she approached them. "I'll take it from here. I am the one charged to watch over her, after all."
"Ah, yes." Dr. Evans nodded, smiling warmly at the young, brown haired nurse.
"Now, if you'll just follow Natalia, she'll show you to Millie's room and will answer any of your questions." Dr. Evans said to Noah and Winona.
Natalia smiled gently at the two. "Follow me."
Winona complied, taking Noah's hand in her own as they trailed behind the nurse.
I'm gonna stop it right here. Well, now you all know what's wrong with Millie. I'm hoping to go a bit more in depth with it in the next chapter.
Anyways, until next chapter! Love ya!
