Chapter 5

10 minutes. 10 minutes until I can see the Tris that I though was dead, but might as well be. But it doesn't matter. She is still somewhere in there. MY Tris.

The doctor walks into the room, right when the clock hits the hour. " You can go in, but I am warning you, she doesn't look like herself," the doctor confirms me. " thank you," I respond. I get up and I walk towards the door, counting the steps until I get to the door. 3.......2........1......, I push open the door.

There lays my beautiful Tris, hooked up to about a dozen different wires and tubes. She has bandages around her stomach, where she was shot. She looks so pale. Lifeless. But I think...... I KNOW..... That the tris I know and love is still alive. I squeeze her hand. I know it's time to go when one of the nurses give me a nod. I let go of Tris and stand up to walk out, and that's when I hear a grumble.
