The Curse

Saulian sliced the frost atronach's leg and slid under its torso. The frost atronach slammed the ground and frost began to spread along the floor.

Saulian jumped back before the frost could hit, the frost atronach seemed to be fixated on hurting Saulian. It was almost as if someone was controlling it rather than it being a rune summon.

Saulian threw his axe at the frost atronach and hit it in the chest. It didn't go down, but only seemed to get stronger. The atronach ran towards Saulian and swung at him, Saulian ducked and stabbed into its arm and held on as best as he could.

The atronach swung its arm as rapidly as it possibly could, finally it lifted its arm in front of it and began to pull back its other. Saulian saw what was going to happen before it did and moved to the side.

"Here goes nothing" Saulian said as his hand burst into flames and he punched the atronach arm. His fist went straight through it was a incinerate spell. Saulian let go and put his fist through its chest.

The atronach immediately melted and all that was left was a puddle of water, Saulian's sword, and his axe. "What in oblivion did I do to deserve an anger atronach" Saulian said.

Saulian picked up his things and continued forward, he was walking through what seemed like a torture chamber. Saulian was stuck in the room since there was a gate standing in his way that seemed to have no lever or opening mechanism.

  Saulian looked around and found a spot in the room where there was another floor about half way up the wall. He began to climb the wall and made his way into the pocket in the wall.

  The area was about the size of a small room and it had an alchemy station at the back end. To Saulian's right there was a chain, he pulled it and the gate opened up. Before going any further Saulian investigated the alchemy station and found ingredients to a poison.

  "That's odd Briar Heart and Canis Root someone must have made a strong paralysis poison" Saulian muttered. Saulian put the ingredients into his satchel and jumped back down.

  Saulian continued to go down corridor after corridor without any success in finding the claw for the door. "Where in oblivion is it I've scoured this entire crypt" Saulian blurted out in frustration. Saulian went back to the dragon door and just stared at it.

  "Could there be a way around this door without using a claw" Saulian thought. "Well there might be you just have to open your mind" said a voice from behind Saulian.

  Saulian quickly turned his weapons drawn, there was a figure standing there with a staff of some sort. The man was wearing a black robe with markings on it his face was hidden due to the hood he had over face.

  "Who are you" Saulian asked. "Who I am is not of urgency, but what I can do for you is" said the man. "I said who are you" Saulian asked with a more stern tone.

  "Well you are an observant one aren't you, like I said my name is not of urgency" the man said. "Very well then either go away or die" Saulian said. "Quite hastily are we not, I will inform you I'm no easy adversary" the man said.

  Saulian smirked and launched himself forward his sword drawn back ready for the swing. The man didn't move an inch instead he put his staff forward and a ball of dark green light appeared.

  Saulian thought it was a normal spell and knew he could disarm it with his sword. The beam of light changed into a liquid sphere and sprayed out towards Saulian. Before Saulian could realize what he was getting himself into he tried to slice the liquid.

  Instead of being split in half as Saulian thought would happen, but instead it latched on to  Saulian's sword and began to spread making its way towards Saulian himself.

  Saulian let go of his sword and backed away, yet his sword didn't hit the ground it stayed in the air. "What in oblivion is that spell" Saulian asked. "It's no spell it's power the power I promised earlier, now feel the power I can BESTOW" said the man.

  The liquid completely consumed Saulian's sword and then leapt towards Saulian at blinding speed. Saulian dropped to the floor to avoid the liquid, but it followed him down.

  Saulian got hit right in the chest and began to be consumed by the liquid. Saulian could feel the power already, but he could also feel the dark power emerging from the liquid now.

  Saulian was finally completely consumed by the liquid and the man in the robes walked over to him. "Now feel the power there is nothing else like it" the man said as he walked to the dragon door.

  He placed his hand on the claw hole and the door opened. Saulian couldn't see anything, but dark green and then the liquid forced its way into his body. In a matter of seconds Saulian had absorbed all of the liquid.

  Saulian got up and the man was gone his sword was on the floor, but now had streaks of dark green on it. Saulian looked at his hand and created a ball of the green liquid out of nothing. "So it's like vampirism once you get it you can pass it along" Saulian muttered.
