Why am i wet? I look up and my sister, Ivory ,is holding a empty bucket. "Ivory!" I get off the straw matress and wring out my shirt. "Atleast you don't have to rub down." Ivory said with a smirk. "Ma!! Ivory wasted water!!" A head pops into the door. "I'm here child, tryin' make me deaf!" "Yeah Thresh, tryin' make Grammy deaf!" Ivy said matter 'o factly. "Simmer down sweet potato, come help make break-est, and Thresh. Rub o'wn with some rosemary, smell like 'em rottin' veggies." I sniff my armpit but all i smell is the faint scent of corn.
I start eating my roll and parcel of moldy cheese when I hear a noise. "Too good for molden' cheese?" "Nah, mold'en cheese to good for me." I finish my roll and start putt'in way the plates. After that we go out to the fields, I start harvesting the fresh soil and spread it on the plants.

"Rue, wake up." I wake up and see my mother. She leaves to the kitchen and i start stretching. "Flora, wake up." She wakes up and starts rubbing her eyes. We start waking up Iris, Bryony, Azelea, and Lolanthe. My siblibngs and i get dressed and go into the kitchen. We start eating cresent rolls with some delicious cheese spread. Wait. this is too good. "Mom?............." She looks at me with worry in her eyes, "I'm working overtime." "How?" But then i'm cut off by a knock on the door. Theres a peacekeeper here, "I'm here for Ms. Akanoto." Mom smiles at us then leaves. "Rue, where's mommy going?" Flora asks. "She's working overtime. That's how we got this yummy cheese spread." I say calmly. "Well then, i'm not eating it any more." "Azelea, Mommy worked hard for this spread. Eat it." "Sorry Iris." Azelea says putting her head down. After that we start wiping the the plates. My siblings and i start walking to the fields.
Flora, Iris, and I scale a tree that is full of ripe fruits. We start picking and dropping the juicy fruits into baskets that Bryony, Azelea, and Lolanthe are holding. I jump to the next tree and i start picking the fruits. We're on our 7th tree when i see a flag waving in the Town Square. I then tell Iris and Flora to help Bryony, Azelea, and Lolanthe carry the baskets to the Sorters. I start singing my four-note tune while jumping tree to tree. The Reaping is about to begin.

I start lifting the basket onto the truck. Thanking Rue's sisters. I just want to take a big bite out of one but there's even more peace keepers than usally. A few baskets later the truck is full with fresh fruit. It's unfair that we don't get any but I bump the car anyways. I walk back to the Sorting House to find Peaches with a small box in hand. She suspiciously looks around the hut, then she hands me the box. "Peaches, ya got to stop doing this. You'll get caught." " But they didn't catch me yet." she says with a twinkle in her eyes. She hangs up her apron, "I'm leaving, don't wait up!" Oh no. I start chasing ater her, she stops on The Hill. "You know idling will result in 40 lashes Peaches." "Such a party-pooper you are Thresh! Can't we have some fun. For once?!" Before I can answer she rolls down The Hill. I roll down after her and land in a thump. I start spitting out grass. "Haha Thresh is a cow!!!!" Peaches starts laughing, more like snorting in her case. I don't find it very funny but I laugh anyways. Then I hear Rue"s four-note tune. The Reaping.
I stand impatiently while Narcissus rambles on about the history of the games. All nonsense, why can't the Reaping be over with. The Reaping finally starts. "It is time to pick this years's tribute for the 74th Hunger Games. He grabbs a scrap of paper and reads the name. " Thresh Agricola!!! Come on the stage." Wait, that's me. A peacekeeper pushes me out of the row and starts ushering me towards the stage. "Now for the girls. Rue Akanoto!!!" He says brightly. I see Rue walking up to the stage, so innocent. We shake hands and walk into the Justice Building.
