It had been a long work week for David and now was his day of silence and peace which he often took it upon himself to reflect on what he'd done or would do. As he was dressing for the earliest mass at his church, to avoid people, he looked out of his window to the gray surroundings. All the grays melded together, the gray on the buildings with the sky with the road and the slush but what stood out was the stark whiteness of the falling snow. David finished knotting his tie then turned to leave.

The white light fell like satin curtains on her wings and warmed her skin, Lilia stood up from her soft cloud before stroking down her feathers before and into her white ballerina's before walking down the reflecting marble set of stairs. "Goodmorning Lilia!" A girl walks up to Lilia and pokes her upper arm. "I heard rumours that the man got a new job to offer to someone special, we have to gather on cloud 9, come!" Before Lilia could part her lips the girl grabbed her wrist and ran off down the crystal pathway until they reached the crowded cloud 9. Gabriel had been given the new lists of assignments from the man above. The saints were in their chairs and the "Archs", as they were called, were seated above them in their order. Gabriel looked down upon the new guardians and caught sight of two girls that were pulling up the rear of the crowd, nodding as the seats were taken. "I have but two special guardianship assignments which I will call those later and speak in private with the both of you who are chosen. First, congratulations to Donovan for completing his 10, 000th mission and his approaching retirement. Second, our new positions for our newest angels. Mary, Kathrine, Valencia, Davis, and Tyrone you will be watching over and transitioning the new souls to the hospitals while Marcus, Damian, Jodi, and Rosalynne will be working for Azrael to bring old souls to us. The two which I did not call will please join me, others attend to your duties." Lilia's wings lower in sorrow as she looks over at the girl who was standing next to her, they were the only two left. She gulped before the girl giggled softly and helped Lilia stand. Lilia cleared her throat and looked up at Gabriel. "H..Hello? Why are we the only ones here?"

"Because you two have been bestowed the guardianships. Two people are not living the lives they were supposed to lead and one is in need of our faith while the other is living devoutly but he isn't living, not really. Lilia, I want you to have David Robert Jones who currently resides in London. Kai, I want you to take Mya Shepherds who resides outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Be warned Kai, Mya does not live in some place we would deem liveable and she will be rather difficult. We believe you can do it but you can back out if you want to. What will you choose?" Kai's face lights up as she smiles. "I will not let you down, Gabriel!" She giggles and hugs my tightly. "I have been waiting for this for over a year now!" She lets me go and flies off. Lilia returns her gaze to Gabriel. "T..Thank you, Gabriel, I will see my map and go directly!" She takes a deep breath before flying off and as soon as she turns the corner she lets out a cheer of happiness before tacing off to the main center to watch the map of planet Earth. She sees her red little spot, the little light she has been waiting for.

Gabriel huffs at the eagerness of such young angels before going to the next station overlooking another part of the globe while back on Earth, David was sitting in his usual pew listening to the sermon so few heard this early in the day. On his knees, he prays for so many things other than just what the priest was saying and he was repenting for probably over the millionth time his past life and his past mistakes. Lilia dusts off her wings before pressing her pointer finger against the red dot to send her to David. First a white blur but then a clear vision of the church. She looks down at the photo of this David Robert Jones she collected earlier and looks around as she pushes her white blonde hair behind her ear. Lilia looks to her left to spot David, she smiles and walks up to him. She looks at his face, his face looked tired and a tear was slipping down his cheek. Lilia sighed and layed her arm across his shoulders, sending a comforting warm wave to him. David held onto the church pew in front of him as he felt the warmth and stifled a contented sigh before sitting again after the time of prayer. David couldn't shake the feeling of a presence, or rather another kind of presence he hadn't felt before. Unfortunately, his brief moments of happiness were wafted away as the bells rang for the service to be dismissed but on his way out David donated some of his pocket change to the poor box at the door and a few pieces more to the homeless man on the corner.

Lilia runs behind him to pass him to walk in front of him. His head tilted down. As he were about to cross the road, a car speeds down the lane he and some other people were crossing, Lilia gasped and looked around for a moment, wings appeared above the people's head who were crossing, this meant there were angels nearby doing their job. She quickly pushed David away, ending up hovering above him as the tires of the car leaves marks on the road.
