She looks down at a newspaper laying on the sidewalk, her eyes spot a piece about a sale in a music store with a picture of a blinging guitar. She quickly kneels down and rips it off before standing and making it blow onto his face. David sputtered at the paper and promptly removed it from his face, not even looking at it as he began to walk to the grocery stores. Lilia looks back down at the paper and runs after him. "Come on David, you can treat yourself!" She gives him a slight push to make him almost stumble over. David quickly grabbed onto a newspaper stand apologized to the owner before ducking his head and walking slowly down the street into the store. He thought of what he needed as he grabbed the basket and the coupons by the door. "Milk, eggs, coffee, and something for dinner." Lilia flew behind him as she made the advert appear in her hand again. She slid it between the coupons and followed him.
David moved around the small store quickly, only buying what he needed. He knew exactly what he'd do with the money. First, he'd buy some fresh groceries and cook something to last him the week. Second, he'd pay a portion of his rent which was behind and finally he'd place the rest in his bank account to hopefully gain interest before paying for anything else. Lilia growls softly tugging onto his sleeve. "Come on David.." David didn't feel a thing as he walked down the aisle. He quickly filled his small cart and grabbed a pair of apples before walking to the counter and holding out his coupons. "I'm sorry man, I'm affraid I can't accept this." The man behinf the counter hands him back the advert before scanning his products. Lilia crosses her arms and grins up at him.
David shoved the ad in his pocket and shook his head. "I'm sorry. Must have mixed up the papers." She rested her forehead in her hands and sighed deeply. "The man places his products in a plastic bag and looks over at David after he scanned the coupons. "That will be £25,20 Sir" "Alright," he said as he pulled out his wallet and a small sense of pride took over. He was happy just to have money to cover the charges of groceries and not have to worry about paying for other things. He promptly pulled out the amount and took the change from the last place and handed it to the man. "Thank you, have a good Sunday! And oh, I almost forgot, a free scratch-ticket for you. You are our 1000th costumer!" The man smiles before handing him the bag and the card. Some people in line applaud before the cashier turns to their products. David smiled and thanked him before putting his ticket and wallet away. He held the bags on his arms as he walked out of the store and started his journey home.
As her hair fell like curtains in front of her eyes, Lilia turned around to face the kitchen, spotting David cutting some vegetables. She blushed slightly as he seemed to look her straight in the eyes before turning and seeing a pigeon sitting on the window ledge behind her. She lets out a soft defeated sigh and turns back to David before walking up to him. "Can't you really see me?" Lilia whispered before walking pass him and looking down at the guitar advert slightly sticking out of his pocket. She jumped upon the empty kitchen top and crossed her legs. David pulled the box of broth from the fridge and poured its contents into the pot on the stove before putting the vegetables in their as well. He left his soup to cook before walking over to his kitchen table and separating out his bills. "So I've got rent, electricity, water, and the institute to pay. I've gotta pay rent but my electrical bill is also over due. Maybe I can push off the water bill for about a week and pay with what I have left over. I could probably pawn a few things." "You've got this, David. It is all going to be fine." Lilia, now playing the little positive voice in his head, braided her hair and tying it. She looks to David who was now standing closer to her and patted his shoulder to boost his confidence.
"I think I can cover it but I won't be able to save as much as I wanted." He grabbed a pen and wrote out the amounts on a piece of paper as he began writing and rewriting the figures. Lilia flattens her white drapey gown as she sighs and looks at him and his blonde curly hair and his blue but missmatched eyes, something she neevr learned. Human eyes were supposed to be blue, green or brown, but one of his was greyish blue. As David looked to the side to search for something she blushed again, somehow he made her feel all giggly, something she hadn't experienced before. It scared her.
David dropped his pen as he rushed the boiling soup on the stove. "At least it's hot," he joked before moving it to another burner and opening the pot. He filled his bowl before sitting at his table and switching the radio on. She hopped off and walked to the table to sit on the opposite side of him. With Lilia's chin resting in the palm of her head, she watched him. Lilia's gaze turned to the radio. "So this is a compacted form of a harp? Looks cool." She smiled and looked up at him, she leaned over the table to look into the bowl to feel a hot clod of steam against her face. "Oh wow." David listened intently to the music playing and sighed contentedly as he enjoyed his small meal. "Today has been a good day," he said to the empty room. "It definitief was!" Lilia smiled and sighed ebfore sitting back. "I hope tomorrow will be decent or just as nice," he said before smiling and finishing his soup. "Oh trust me, it will only get better for you."
