I did it. I can't believe I actually did it.
Jason what the hell were you thinking? You're gonna get yourself caught
You're fine, as long as you don't blow our cover
I shook my head mentally cursing at the familiar voices ringing in my head. Did I do the right thing? Or did I just fuck myself over? My clouded thoughts were interrupted by the sound of Caleb's voice echoing inside of my head.
"Jason, dude, I'm talking to you. Are you alright?" He asked knitting his eyebrows together siting on the couch in front of me.
"Yea I'm fine, just a little..." I spoke low lifting my hand in the air wiggling my fingers. I kept my hand up cracking my knuckles while I used my free hand to take a swig of the Burbin.
"I didn't see you at all last night, Nick thought you finally killed yourself." He chuckled rubbing his temple while I let out a huff. I took another sip and looked out the large window to my left.
I clenched my jaw at my thoughts again, "I saw her last night."
"You what!" Caleb yell whispered trying to keep his voice down. "Jason you know you're starting risky shit." He hissed leaning forward in his chair as I slouched back in my seat.
"Relax Caleb, she doesn't know." I hissed back at him finishing my drink.
"Look who finally decided to show up." Nick smirked sliding his feet across the floor to the kitchen.
"Still alive too." I rubbed my face holding my glass up for him to fill it up. He chuckled shaking his head at me.
"Damn it, I was praying for no return." Nick replied clutching his chest filling up the crystal.
"So what did you do last night?" Nick asked putting the glass down as he sat on the couch letting out a sigh. Caleb look at me almost frantic but I only glared at him to relax.
"I took a walk, like usual." I answered leaning further back lacing my fingers over my abdomen. Nick grunted looking back and forth from Caleb and I. I gave him a questioning look then towards Caleb. "What?"
"Nothing, it's just, you've been taking a lot of walks lately."
"What's your point?" I spat not realizing my tone was harsher than intended.
"Just curious." He said taking my glass and taking a sip. I huffed and rolled my eyes looking at Caleb, he was biting the inside of his cheek almost annoyed at our petty remarks.
It was normal between Nick and I, but on a few occasions things could get out of hand leading Caleb to break the fight. But today was not the day, we had to stay focused.
"So, what're we doing?" Caleb questioned leaning forward rubbing his hands.
"We have to drive to the dock at 10 tonight to make sure the packing is being delivered to the right address. We only know those idiots screw that shit up every god damn time." Nick chuckled lowly rubbing his temples and Caleb returned the gesture.
I rubbed my chin, "Anything else we need to take care of today?" I asked the boys. They both shook their heads looking at each other. "Good, I'm gonna try something new, for once." I laughed as they looked at me puzzled.
I grabbed my keys for my black Bugatti from the side table in the hallway and headed out the door. A rush of cool wind hit my exposed skin when I closed the door, jogging to my car. I turned on the ignition before checking behind me the backing out of the driveway.
