I sat in my desk, doodling on the syllabus the professor handed out. This was my last class of the day, and all I could think about was getting out of here.
Such a great attitude to start off the year. My wolf chided me.
I sighed. First days are never any fun. You don't learn anything!
I could feel her shake her head at me, but she didn't say anything else.
I focused back in on the professor just as he dismissed us early. It was almost like he read my thoughts, but he wasn't a werewolf, nor would he even be one from my pack.
I decided to head over to the rec building to play a little bit before other classes were dismissed. There was less chance of anyone hearing me if there wasn't any one around.
Once I finally reached the music room I sat down and began to play. I let my fingers take over and felt my body relax. It been a stressful weekend; I hadn't known what to do with myself the whole time. I Skype-d Ash a couple times, but he had been busy training and working with his dad. I spent most of the time in my room, slowly unpacking and watching Netflix. I wandered the campus a little bit so I wouldn't get lost trying to find my classes today. But all in all it was a lonely couple of days.
I finished off the song and breathed a sigh. I sat for a moment, just listening to the sounds of people walking by outside; that's when I heard footsteps coming down the hallway. I grabbed my bag and walked quietly to stand with my back pressed to the wall by the door. Holding my breath I waited for the footsteps to disappear down the hall, but instead they turned into the room.
Only with my luck would that person turn out to be the brown haired boy from the pizzeria carrying a guitar case.
I waited until he was far enough into the room that I could sneak out the door behind him. My luck was not in my favor at all because I ran into the door frame on my way out, causing him to hear me. I took a quick look behind me, just enough to see him turn around start to follow me.
"Hey, wait! What are you running off for?"
I didn't answer, but the thought crossed my mind that his voice was just as amazing as his laugh had been. I shook my head and continued down the hallway. Mercifully he didn't continue after me.

I stood in the doorway watching the strange girl walk quickly down the hallway. She walked with her head down, causing her to run into DJ when he came around the corner. She mumbled a sorry before she disappeared.
DJ pointed after her, silently asking what was up with her as he continued toward me. I shrugged, then turned into the room. I unpacked my guitar as DJ walked to the drums.
"Ever seen her before?" I asked him while I tuned.
"Yeah once or twice. She was in here once with some guy. Why do you ask?" He twirled his drumsticks, leaning against the wall casually.
"No reason." I turned around to throw my tuner back in my case.
"Come on man, I know you. Spill." He leaned forward resting his arms on his knees.
"I don't know, there's just something about her. I keep seeing her around campus but she disappears before I can ever talk to her." I shrugged, trying not to seem too caught up.
"Do you think...?"
"I don't know man. I don't wanna get my hopes up. It could just be I've never seen her before."
