Aka had insisted on trying surfing. I protested to it, seeing as she was five months pregnant. But the instructor promised me she would be fine.

So I sat on a surfboard with my wife, waiting for the "sick wave" that was to come. I felt the water rise below us and I looked behind me and saw the wave.

"Ready?" I asked her. She grinned brightly up at me. I kissed her cheek and stood on the board with her and rode the wave with her standing in front of me.

"Woooo-hoooooo!!!!" She cheered as we sailed on the wave. The water crashed over our heads and I wrapped my arm around her waist as we fell, holding on to her as we went tumbling in to the sea.

Our heads broke the surface and we drew air backs in to our lungs. Aka pushed her hair out of her face. I pulled us back up on to the surfboard. She grinned brightly at me.

"That was so fun!" She said. I smiled and kissed her softly.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it, my water angel." I said softly and placed butterfly kisses on her cheeks. She giggled as my facial hair tickled her cheeks.

After a few more hours of surfing, we returned to shore to collect sea shells. A luau was on the beach for the hotel guests that night. Aka pulled a lavender purple sundress on and I changed in to a pair of jeans and a white dress shirt.

At the luau, hula girls were handing hibiscus flowers to all the men. I took the flower the girl handed me and approached the table where Aka sat. Her eyes were glued to the stage where a fire dancer was performing. As his performance ended, Aka clapped softly.

"That was amazing! Hawaii is just amazing!" She said with a bright grin. I kissed her cheek softly.

"I couldn't agree more." I said and slipped the hibiscus flower in to her hair. The white flower was in pleasant contrast with her dark purple hair.

"The most beautiful sight I've ever seen in my life is right before my eyes." I hummed to her. She blushed softly and kissed my hand. I leaned in and stole a kiss from her perfect lips.

Aka sighed softly.

"I can't believe it's over already. I had such a good time." She said. I smiled and kissed her cheek.

"Well, now you can get back to work at Phoenix Photography." I said. She hummed.

"Law, I've been thinking..." she said.

"Yes, dear?" I asked.

"Maybe... just until the baby is old enough to go to school... maybe I should quit..." she said. I hummed in response.

"Well, we do have quite a bit of money stored away, plus I make a pretty fair wage as a surgeon. But are you sure you want to fully quit and not just do less hours?" I asked. She shrugged.

"You love photography, Aka-ya. I'd hate to see you quit something you love so much." I started.

"But I love our family more." She said. I leaned down and kissed her cheek.

"I'll talk to Marco when we get back. Maybe we can work something out to where I'll still be able to take care of the baby and work at the company." She said. I pulled her closer to me.

"I'll talk to Dr Giard about less hours so I can be home to help you take care of the baby. But, Aka-ya, if you want to be a stay at home mom, I have no problems with that. But I want you to be sure that you're ready to give up photography, even if it is for a while." I said. I kissed her lips softly. She smiled up at me.

"I love you, Law." She said. I smiled back at her and kissed her again.

"I love you, too, Aka-ya. And I always will." I told her.

It was 3:00 in the morning when we finally arrived home. Aka yawned as she stepped out of the car and stretched. I smiled softly at her as she rubbed her eyes, then let her glasses drop back down on to her face. I scooped her up bridal style and carried her to our front door.

"Law, the bags-" She started.

"Can wait until morning. I want to carry my wife to our bedroom." I said. She smiled up at me with love filling her eyes. I returned the gaze and kissed her head as I swiftly unlocked the door and carried her inside. I carefully climbed the stairs to our bedroom as she rested her head on my shoulder. I eased her down on to the bed to find that she had fallen asleep. I chuckled at her and pulled her glasses from her face, then pulled the blankets up over her sleeping form. I knelt beside her and watched her sleep for a little bit.

I reached out and stroked her bangs way from her face and kissed her forehead. Her eyes flicked back and forth beneath her eyelids in soft dreams. I smiled and raised her braid, gently tugging the hair tie from the end and softly untangling her hair from the tight braid it had been in for the past few hours and let it fall over her shoulders. I smiled at the beautiful sight.

With a light grunt, I raised myself to my feet and stretched my stiff spine. I bent back over and kissed her sleeping lips.

"I love you, my precious angel." I whispered to her.
