Queenie was very distracted the next day. It was her day off, and Tina had already gone of to work. She left quickly with a quick glance at Queenie, who was busy in the kitchen. Tina was very suspicious. After last night, Tina was sure Queenie was hiding something. No time to think of such things while at work though.
When Queenie was alone, she took her ring out from under her blouse. She looked closely at the small silver ring. It was very thin with a small green gem on the front. She smiled remembering that nights events. She always knew what Jacob was thinking, but Jacob knew the laws that kept them apart. Queenie felt like she didn't realize she loved him until he said it aloud to her. Queenie sighed as she fell back onto her bed. She wanted to go see Jacob, but who knew who she would see on the way. And besides he tended to close the shop after she arrived. So she decided she would wait and hour and a half before leaving the house. So she busied herself by baking, but baking reminded her of Jacob. So she began to sew and soon, with her magic whirling away, she made another dress.
At 1:00pm, Queenie left the house. She was dressed nicely and she had her chain tucked under her shirt. She arrived at the bakery soon and hesitated before going inside. Jacob was her fiance. Fiance. She repeated the word in her mind. She liked the sound of that, and so she walked in with a smile on her face. Jacob was serving a couple and their child, and Queenie watched in admiration as he smiled at each person. He then looked up and his smile widen as he saw Queenie.
In his mind, she was perfect. Queenie caught the thought as it passed through his mind. It made her smile widen, if that was even possible. Jacob finished serving then came over to Queenie.
"Hello!" Jacob brightly. "Is there anything I can get you!"
"No," Queenie replied, "but can I bake something for you?"
"Of course!" Jacob said leading her behind the bar and letting her into his apartment.
"See you later honey." Queenie said with a smile." She wanted to make him a strudel. Just like the first time they met. It was really pleasant, knowing who she was baking for. She began to prepare the strudel as she could hear Jacob closing the bakery for his lunch. Queenie had just put the strudel on the table when Jacob came throught he door. He smiled as he saw what she had made him.
"I like this engagement thing." Jacob said as they sat down. "When do you want to get married?" Queenie smiled.
"As soon as possible." Queenie grined. "We can do it in your apartment in your living room."
"H-how does tomorrow sound?" Jacob asked, a little hesitant. He didn't want to be rushing things. But Queenie already knew this and she was happy to be married tomorrow. "Then I'll see you tomorrow." Jacob said with a grin.
"Oh! Yes its almost 4:00pm. Tina will be heading home!" I have to get back!" Queenie said standing up. "I'll see you tomorrow honey," Queenie said reaching for Jacobs hand with her other over her ring. Her hand slowley left Jacob's hand as she swept out of the bakery and out into the street. She rushed home with her cheeks burning with blush. I'm going to be married, was the main thought in her head.
