Something Secret- Jacob X Queenie Fanfiction

Part 6

When Queenie arrived home she sunk onto the couch. She took a long look around the room, when her eyes focused on the dress she made earlier. She looked again and saw that the white fabric and lace she made it out of looked like an unfinished wedding dress. She went up and made some alterations and soon had a simple but elegant dress worthy of a wedding, but not so extravagant that it would be noticed if she wore it in public. Her face flushed at the thought of marriage. It would be hard to hide from Tina, but Queenie believed it could be done. It was nearly five when Tina arrived home from work. She raised a questioning eyebrow when she saw Queenie home. She had thought that she might be out when she came home, but here she was preparing supper.

"How was work?" Queenie chirped. She knew of any suspicions in Tina's mind, and was going to put them out.

"Usual." Tina said bluntly. "Nothing exciting happened, but we still had to stay all day."

"I'm sorry," Queenie said with a pout. She was going to play up the innocence.

"You made a dress I see." Tina stated as she gazed around the room.

"Yes, I got a little bored." Queenie waved it off, making the dress seem insignificant, when in reality, she really got excited whenever she looked at it.

"Okay then, let's have supper." Tina said sitting down. Queenie laid the table and they happily ate their food. A small chat continued throughout the meal, held up more by Queenie, who tried not to be suspicious.

After a pleasant meal, Tina went back into her book. Queenie went back to making the final alterations on her dress. She planned to wear it to work tomorrow so Tina wouldn't question it if she put it on later.

Later that night Queenie sat in bed, full of excitement. She couldn't wait until work was over so she could go see Jacob and become his wife... It took a long time,but she finally fell asleep, dreaming of tomorrow and how she would soon be Mrs. Kowalski.
