VALERIE'S POV
"You look gorgeous!"
I examined the what-seemed-like-hundredth-dress that Orchid held out to minutes ago. It screamed the usual. Fitting, strapless and shows way too much for the innocent eyes.
"You said that with all the previous ones." I said, looking at my reflection on the floor length mirror. Adjusting the dress and wishing it would magically become longer.
"What can I do, everything looks amazing on you." She stood up from the black sofa she was sitting on for the past hour and went to the clothing rack probably to find another one. "Val, I could even let you wear a trash bag and everybody might mistake it for a dress that costs twice the worth of Prada. Hmm..." She said running her thin fingers along the hangers.
"Why don't you try one for yourself?" I asked though I knew the answer to that.
"Dear, this is my store and I know every thread before it experienced my magic. And to tell you frankly I keep all the best ones for myself. So my outfit for tonight is already waiting for me at the penthouse."
True. It's amazing how someone who's in the fashion business, still managed to be on top even though she keeps all the best ones for herself. Typical Orchid Easton.
"Val you have to see this!" I broke away from my thoughts and diverted my gaze to what Orchid was holding. It was a silver, short, strapless, covered with sparkling sequins, and probably is eight inches above my knees. "Please tell me you're the one who likes that dress Chid. Because there is no way, absolutely no way... that I'm going to a club wearing that." I said pointing at the cross between lingeries and sparkles. I took a few steps backward, hoping to retreat to the uncomfortable walls of the dressing room.
"Nuh uh. You promised to go clubbing with me tonight."
"I did. But you choosing an outfit that exposes most of me was nowhere near the agreement."
"But if you get to choose what you wear tonight anybody might mistake you as someone who will go to church and not someone who's going to spend the night dancing and drinking at a club. You might as change your name to Jamie Sullivan because you dress alike." She answered frankly. "So please let me pick your outfit." She pleaded with her big gray eyes.
"Fine." My best friend clapped her hands and threw me a hug. "And I do not dress like Jamie."
"Oh honey, you need a man or someone as drool worthy like Landon Carter to prove that. Loosen up a bit! It's forget-all-the-problems-of-Valerie-Springs night. I know yyou won't regret it!"
Honestly with the way things have been going lately and my ability to attract problems, I doubt that I won't be regretting at least one thing tonight. I knew I should've just stayed home and spend the rest of the night having an Efron Marathon.

ORCHID'S POV
"Chid, I just need to buy Diego's fish food. I'll be right back." My bestfriend peeked from my bedroom door.
Ever since we were kids, we treated each other as sisters. Back to when her mom left her up to the time when her a**hole of a father made her give up the company, I made it my life promise to never leave her side. For the past weeks, she has been through too much so I decided to make tonight an official girl's night out. Valerie needs a break from the unfortunate happenings and a little drinking plus dancing could take her mind off things. Even just for a while. It's either the club or the Zac-Efron-Marathon and coffee crumble ice cream.
