"Hey, Mal!"
Greeted Evie.
She waves back.
"Whatcha doing?"
Asks Evie.
"I don't know, I have had something in my mind for a while now" responded Mal.
Evie raised an eyebrow.
"What is it?"
"Well, I was wondering if I should tell Ben that I like him"
Evie felt a sharp pain in her heart.
"W-why would you do that?"
She stuttered.
"I don't know... it's just been making me act awkward around him and it's been bugging me"
"What do you think I should do, E?"
Evie paused for a minute and thought to herself,
'Should I tell her yes or no? If I tell her, yes, me having a chance with her is over. But if I tell her no, then she'll be bothered by it. But if she doesn't tell him, I'll have an even better chance with her. But then, she'll be upset'
"Mal, I think you should tell Ben how you feel"
Evie lowered her head and regretted those words but if they made Mal happy then, she was happy.
The next day
"So Mal how did it go with Ben?" asked Evie hoping she got rejected.
"Oh! I and Ben got together!"
Mal smiled like she was the happiest girl in the world.
"Wow, that's amazing" Evie lied.
"I know right!"
3 months after Ben and Mal started dating
Evie was walking around the school looking for Fairy GodMother when all of a sudden she saw Ben enter a room with Audrey.
She furrowed her eyebrows and quietly followed them.
She overheard Ben saying to Audrey,
"Happy 2 month anniversary!"
"Wow, Ben thanks for the pretty necklace and dinner last night!"
Evie's thoughts
'Omg he's cheating on Mal'
'I'm gonna tell Mal when I find her'
Evie quietly left the scene and went to Carlos and Jay's dorm.
Dorms
Evie entered the boy's dorm only to find them all snuggled up on Carlos's bed while watching a horror movie, with Dude sleeping in his own little bed.
Evie grabbed the controller and paused the movie, while she got complaints from Jay but Carlos was relieved because he felt like he was gonna have a heart attack.
"What's up, Evie?" asked Jay.
"Well, I just found out that... Ben is cheating on Mal with Audrey"
"What!?" yelled Jay and Carlos in unison.
"Are you sure you heard that right?" asked Carlos still in shock.
"Yea I heard him say that it was their 2 month anniversary, he took her out to dinner, and gave her a necklace"
Evie lied down on Jay's bed.
"So what're you gonna do now?" asked Jay as he sat up.
"Well, of course, I'm gonna tell Mal what's happening"
"I can't let her be with that lying piece of trash"
"Evie, I have a question for you." said Carlos.
"What is it?"
"Do you like Mal?"
Evie sat right up and raised an eyebrow at Carlos.
"Yes I do... how did you know?"
"Well the way you look at her, the day when she told you she was gonna confess to Ben you didn't act like yourself and right now the way your eyes sparkled when you said her name because that's the way Jay acts when I come to his mind so, let's just say it was a hunch"
Evie felt her whole face turn red.
"Ok, well I'm leaving now... I'm gonna go tell Mal"
Evie waved them goodbye and she shut their door.
Then Carlos and Jay resumed their horror movie.
Evie and Mal's dorm
Evie quietly entered her dorm and noticed Mal sitting on the bed.
"Hey Mal, are you ok?" asked Evie as she sat down next to her.
"No, Ben promised to take me on a date about 2 hours ago... but he had to cancel and today is our 3 month anniversary"
Mal felt tears roll down her cheeks.
Evie felt even more furious because he made her best friend cry.
"Mal, there's something I need to tell you"
Mal looked up at Evie.
"W-what is it?"
"I overheard Ben and Audrey talking... I'm sorry but he's been cheating on you with her"
"Evie, do you think I'm dumb? Ben would never cheat on me. How stupid do you think I am?"
"M, I'm telling you the truth! I overheard them talking"
"E, I thought I could trust you but you're just jealous"
Mal stormed off leaving Evie alone.
"I can't believe Evie would betray me like that"
She then began looking for Ben and while doing that she found Chad and Doug flirting in a corner so she asked them if they knew where Ben was, they said he was in his dorm.
After she left, they returned to flirting.
Mal wiped the tears off her face and she finally reached Ben's dorm.
She slowly opened the door only to find Ben and Audrey kissing.
"What the hell are you doing?!" yelled Mal.
Ben quickly pushed Audrey off and turned his head to Mal.
"M-Mal, what're you doing here?" Ben stuttered.
"Looking for you for our date!"
"Bennyboo, what is she talking about?" asked Audrey.
"U-um"
Ben didn't know how to answer.
"I can't believe you would cheat on me"
Mal felt tears forming again.
"Evie was right"
"We are done!"
"Mal wai-"
His sentence was cut off by the door slamming in his face.
Mal stormed off to her own dorm where she found Evie sewing a new dress.
Sewing usually helped Evie calm down.
Evie looked up and saw Mal crying.
"Oh god, Mal! What happened?!" Evie questioned as she walked towards her.
"You were right about Ben cheating on me"
"I should have trusted you"
Evie hugged Mal and said
"Oh M, but how were you supposed to know?"
"Ben does look like the type of person who wouldn't cheat, so I can't blame you"
Evie then grabbed Mal's face and gave her a peck on the lips.
"Evie, what was that!?"
"Well you see Mal, I've always liked you and I was gonna tell you but then you confessed to Ben so I didn't have the chance anymore"
Mal felt her cheeks turn red.
"So Mal what do you say, do you like me?"
Evie was hoping for a yes.
"I guess... I do" Mal gently smiled at Evie.
They then kissed and lived happily ever after.
Except for Ben who got beat up by Audrey.
