It had been ten days since the trio moved, and so far it had been peaceful. Margaret had done lots of practice on her powers and found out she could do more than just teleport. She almost electrocuted her two friends the day before in an attempt to 'in her own words scale higher.' Life was calm but they were cautious at all times, especially with Daniel being Daniel. Their new home was beautiful, a clear meadow sat behind the house with grass standing tall and strong, Vivian couldn't help but sit there everyday since her arrival staring at nothing in particular. Today she went out for her daily routine finding Daniel at her usual spot, she rolled her eyes wondering if he just did it to piss her, she noticed the steady pattern of his heart showing that he was asleep , smiling softly she walked over and knelt beside him studying his features carefully. Every contour on his face seemed perfect to her,the sharp jaw down to his broad shoulders , the first few buttons of his shirt left open giving her a slight but fine view of his well defined chest. She bent closer to him, her face hovering over his a little. Her hair fell to the side touching his face and on cue Daniel opens his eyes staring directly into Vivian's. Vivian freezes in place as a mischievous smile curls up his mouth , he raises his lips to brush hers slightly.
" Can you let me go now?" Vivian stutters backwards light headed and gently nods at him, one could mistake her face for a tomato without knowing. Daniel casually strolls back into the house in his element, he felt happy at his prank to her at the moment.
Margaret watched as the little scene played out , she smiled feeling proud of her best friend, she'd seen Vivian stare at him countless times, working out, cooking, eating, it was too much, she wondered if she'd wait forever. A strong chill ran up her spine pulling her from her thoughts, panic coursed through her as she ran to find Daniel, she bumped into him at the door.
"Hey, what's up with you?" Daniel asked as he look at her.
"Their close , I can feel it, they found us , we need to leave."
"No! Not this time, if they want trouble they got it." Vivian said as she came in.
"Your right. We need to stand our ground this time, we'll be waiting for them." Margaret looked to both people like they were crazy, she wasn't sure they were right, but she trusted them with everything she had and was willing to die with them if it meant so.
"OK . but we need to prepare, its different from last time, much stronger than before. The two had come to terms with the abilities of Margaret faster than she imagined .
Margaret stood in the clear meadow staring at the beautiful stars and feeling the soft wind caress her skin, she had a barrel of thoughts in her mind, all of which would determine her possibility of seeing the next morning.
" Hey cupcake! What you doing? "
"Hey! Just thinking bout stuff ya know. Maybe we should just let them take us Daniel, I'm scared , I don't want to loose you guys, I can't...... Loose you." she sobbed silently with the inability to speak anymore.
"Its OK . I'm not going anywhere Margaret , I'll be fine." Vivian walks out to the yard taking their attention instantly.
" Guys , their here." Daniel's face hardens at the completion of the statement, with one last look at Margaret he turns towards the house, all three standing together now, it was now or never.
Three trucks pull over at the front of the house, car doors opening and closing, weapons being prepared, Daniel listening to every sound from the other side of the house. They had a plan to gain the upper hand before the battle would occur. The soldiers walked into the house stealthily taking different directions to search out their prey.
"8,9,10,12 that's it, wait two more , they aren't touching the ground." Daniel looked to Margaret who held his hand and smiled in return. Daniel walks to face the house directly and in an instant crushes the house completely, Margaret and Vivian are beside him within seconds .
"Maggie? How many?"
" All twelve of them are dow....... Wait! There's movement. "
A soldier jumps out of the debris followed by three others, Vivian instantly shoots ice projectiles at them impaling one to the ground while the other two dodge. Margaret teleports to one of the two kicking him downwards with a bolt of lighting. Daniel is left face to face with the third who attacks head on, with the flick of an arm he suspends the soldier and breaks him with no remorse.
"My my, you've become such a monster Daniel, its such a shame its exactly what I need.". Daniel stood frozen in place as the all too familiar voice got to him, a look of pure confusion etched across his face, Vivian stared at him seeing the same mortified look on Margaret, she recognise the voice and face of the speaker
" TRACY."
