Betrayal and Heartbreak

       Narina and Sasuke had just finished feeding the children and were laying in their room together when a knock at the door was heard. Narina smiled and kissed Sasuke before getting up and greeting the person at the door and Sasuke recognized that voice immediately. It was one of his men. But why stay behind? Did he just grow attached to the Southern Water Tribe? Whatever the reason something didn't add up. Why would his crew's assassin stay behind.....? Wait! Oh no..... He's the one to hate anyone who isn't a fire Bender! Sasuke jumped up and ran into the parlor to see the man standing and speaking with Narina. His eyes narrowed as he walked over and wrapped an arm around Narina's waist.

        "You are so great with children... I'm sure you'll make a great mother one day," the assassin said with a smooth voice. Sasuke kept watching every move, making sure he can protect Narina. Narina loomed at Sasuke with a confused expression.

        "Sasuke...? Is something the matter...?" She said with worried eyes. Sasuke just kept his eyes on his crew member. Why would the assassin stay behind for anything but to kill her?

      "I'm fine, Narina.. But it's late. Shouldn't we go to bed..?" Narina looked outside and realized it was dark out. How could time have slipped by this quickly? She smiled.

      Narina decided to invite the assassin to stay the night. Sasuke didn't like the idea at all but didn't want to scare her so he kept quiet. Sasuke smiled at her and agreed that'd be a great idea but the second she looked away he glared at the assassin, whose name was Lee. Lee just responded with a calm yet somewhat smug expression, which only made Sasuke even more uneasy. What did Lee have planned...? He didn't like this at all.

        Narina gave Sasuke a sweet smile and even a kiss before going to prepare some fish to cook. Sasuke smiled and watched her go, knowing she'll be safe in a separate room. Once she was out of ear shot Sasuke prepared to fight Lee.

        "What are you still doing here, Lee? You had orders to leave with the others," he asked with an evil glare. Lee just smirked.

        "What's it matter to you? You betrayed your kingdom. So you have no room to ask me why I'm here."

        "Actually I do. I stayed behind for my lover. As far as I know, you only stayed behind to kill."

        Lee mockingly gasped in surprise. "Why, Sasuke!! How could you even consider something so insidious~? And here I thought we were friends, brothers even, who trusted each other~!"

        "That was before my crew's assassin stayed behind.. You being here is a threat to Narina."

        "Tsk. Tsk. That wench has you wrapped around that finger of hers doesn't she? Well, you can rest easy tonight knowing I'm not here to hurt her."

        Sasuke's eyes narrow, trying to decide if that statement was true or a lie. "If you aren't here for her then why are you here...?" Lee smirked and even had a predatory look in his eye.

        "I'm not here for her. I'm here for you!" He replied as he flicked his wrist, a kunai impaling Sasuke right in the chest. That was the exact moment Narina came back to call them for dinner and she watched Sasuke fall to the floor in slow motion and she screamed as she ran to him. The kunai was still in his chest and she was scared. If she pulled it out, he'd surely die. If she didn't, he'd suffer. She couldn't decide but Sasuke smiled softly and weakly cupped her cheek.

        "Pull it out.... I know I'll die....  But we found each other.... once, twice even..... And I know.... We can do it again..... Because love knows no bounds....." Narina didn't want him to die, but she knew she had no choice. She pulled the kunai out and since Lee had fled, she stayed with Sasuke until his last, dying breath. After which, she closed his eyes and lay her head on his chest crying. He was gone again...  And she couldn't stop it. Once again she failed... She took from his wrist, his bracelet and put it on her own before burying Sasuke's now lifeless vessel. After saying a soft prayer, she stood and with the determined eyes of the Ninja she was in her past life, sought after her lover's assailant.
