Chapter 23

I ended up phoning my boss and telling him I had a family situation, he didn't believe me and asked for the truth. I told him that I had been asked to go on holiday with the boys and their families because it's the only opportunity they have to do something before they start writing. He actually said I could have up to 3 weeks off tops, which I'm extremely grateful for even though I've not even started work yet.

I went to walk back into the kitchen and my phone rang I looked down at he caller ID and saw it was my friend Sam.

"Hey Sammy, whats up?" I asked as I answered the phone.

"Hi Sunshine, I need a favour" he replied.

"What's this favour?" I asked, slightly worried about what he'd ask me.

"Our guitarist has broken his hand and I was kinda wondering if you could come and play? It would mean a lot if you could" Sammy replied, I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.

"When do you need me?"

"Tomorrow, I'll text you the address. Thank you so much Sunny" he said cheerily.

"You owe me Sammy" I stated.

"I know I do, I'll see you tomorrow and we'll go over the set list and stuff" he explained.

"Okay, I've gotta go and talk to the guys. I'll see you tomorrow" I said whilst leaning against the kitchen doorframe.

"Bye Sunny."

"See ya Sam."

I walked into the kitchen and gave Liz a thumbs up before standing in between Calum's legs as he played with my hair.

"Sunny, I'm assuming you got the time off?" Liz asked, the whole room stared at me and I smiled whilst nodding my head.

The next hour or so was spent on discussing on where we'd go, none of us could agree on anything until Annie suggested getting a few beach houses and just spending our new year at the beach. We obviously all agreed and soon everyone left, after Annie and Liz agreed to book everything for us.

"Ashton, would you be pissed if I went out tomorrow night?" I asked as I was swinging my legs off the end of the kitchen table.

"No, why?" He replied, walking over to me and standing in between my legs.

"Because I've been asked to fill in for Sammy's guitarist as they've broken their hand" I stated.

Ashton's face lit up and he smiled broadly at me, if I'm honest, this confused me a lot. Why would he be so happy about me performing anyway? It's not exactly a huge deal.

"Babe that's amazing!" He exclaimed, making me even more confused.

"Why is it?" I asked through my confusion.

"Because I finally get to come and watch you do something rather than you always coming to watch my shows" he replied, that cleared my confusion slightly and I nodded.

"Guys, it's almost 4. Your reservation is at 6" Luke shouted from wherever he was in the house.

"Thanks Luke" we shouted back in unison as we headed out of the kitchen and up the stairs to our room.

It must've taken Ash and I an hour to decide on what we were wearing before we gave up and picked for each other instead. I picked out Ashton's black dress shirt, blue skinnies and his white converse. Ash picked out my black skinny jeans, pastel blue flowy top and my black wedge heels.

We both had showers, well... Technically we showered together as I was extremely bored on my own in our room and couldn't help myself. We both got dressed and I blow dried my hair, whereas Ash just let his dry by itself. I straightened my hair before teasing it a little to make it look textured, I then applied my makeup; eyeliner, mascara, concealer and a pastel pink lipstick as Ashton sat talking to me and watching me through the mirror.

"You ready?" Ashton asked as I put my makeup bag down on the dresser and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"I just need to put my contact lenses in and then we can go" I replied as picked up my lenses and put them in.

"I don't understand how you can do that you know, it just makes me cringe" Ashton stated as I blinked to get my lenses to adjust against my eyes properly.

"I'm used to it, I've had to do it for the last four years babe" I said as I turned to face him.

"I know, but still" he said whilst shrugging.

I simply shook my head at him and led him down the stairs, my shoes in my hand as I can't walk down the stairs in them. I quickly slipped my shoes on as we reached the bottom of the stairs and told the boys we were leaving, Ashton led me out to his car and opened my door for me.

I quickly climbed into the car and waited for Ash to get in and start the short drive to the restaurant.
