Chapter 16

Luke and I walked through the streets and talked about random things, like penguins and unicorns, you know normal things. We soon came to a small Italian restaurant on the corner of the Main Street of town.

"I found it whilst you were away, they do amazing pizza so I thought I'd bring you" Luke stated whilst running a hand through his hair.

"It's cute and you know how much I love pizza" I said whilst smiling up at him.

"Come on, we've got a table booked" he chirped with a smile whilst leading me to the door.

"Hi, I've got a reservation under Hemmings" Luke said politely to the man behind a small desk with menus and a booking list on it.

"Ah yes, this way Mr Hemmings" he said with a polite smile before leading us to a table along the far wall of the restaurant.

We both sat down and the waiter handed us our menus, he told us he'd be back in a few minutes to take our orders. We both scanned our menus, well Luke hid behind his because a group of teenage girls walked in.

"Luke why are you hiding behind a menu?" I laughed.

"Because those girls go to Norwest and they practically stalk me" he hissed which only made me laugh me.

"Right, stay hidden and I'll tell you when they're gone" I said whilst biting back my laughter.

After a few minutes the girls were sat at a table on the furthest side of the restaurant so I nudged Luke's leg to let him know that he was out of view.

"Right, because I'm awesome and I know what Italian food you like, I figured we'd get a pizza and a bowl of spaghetti to share" Luke said whilst dropping his menu.

"That's fine with me, you could order me whatever and I'd be happy" I said with a smile.

"Yes because you're a wannabe fat kid" he joked.

"I'm gonna die fat and happy" I sang causing us both to start laughing.

My phone buzzed and I quickly checked it, I had a text from Ashton.

'From; Ashy :*

I hope you have a nice time with Luke, I know he's missed you loads. I'll see you when you get home and we'll go visit mum and the siblings xxxx'

'To; Ashy :*

I know he has, he just won't admit it. Okay, I did promise them we'd go over tonight anyway xxxx'

I locked my phone and put on the side of the table, I looked at Luke and noticed he had a smile on his face whilst tapping away on his phone.

"Who ya texting?" I sang.

"No one important" he stated without looking up from his phone.

"Yeah that's why you're smiling like a 4 year old at Christmas at your phone" I said rolling my eyes.

"Okay fine, I'm texting Dani from school because she wants to meet up and stuff" he said with a shrug before putting his phone on the table.

I nodded my understanding and the waiter came over, Luke reeled off our order including drinks and the waiter walked away. We both sat talking animatedly about random things and stories about the other three that happened whilst I was away, after a few minutes the waiter came back with our drinks and then disappeared again.

I span the straw around my drink whilst I looked out across the cute restaurant, there wasn't many of us in here. There was the group of teenage girls, an old couple and a few businessmen. I was brought back from my haze by my notification sound going off, I unlocked my phone and opened up my Instagram. Luke had tagged me in a photo.
