~It's Just A Distant Memory: Gladion X Reader~

~Prologue~

~Narrator's P.O.V~

It was an intense battle, for (y/n). She was battling a creature known as an Ultra Beast, also known as a UB. Now, a couple months ago, (y/n) would've thought that this would be difficult. For, back then, she wasn't a Pokémon trainer. But, now, she was a very important Pokémon trainer. The champion, in fact. Now, if you didn't know, the champion is the strongest trainer in a particular region. So, seeing that she was struggling, was scaring (y/n).

(y/n) now only had one Pokémon available to her, Mimikyu. Now, normally, (y/n) would be confident, when Mimikyu would take the field. But, since the UB that she was battling happened was a poison type, Mimikyu was at a disadvantage. Even though (y/n) wouldn't show it, she was starting to become very afraid. But, who wouldn't, when you're battling a beast that no one knows anything about?

Now, just a few days ago, (y/n) had had her celebration, for becoming the champion. She had felt so happy, and, at peace. Then, the day after that, someone called her to come help a detective agency. The detective agency wanted (y/n)'s help, to take care of the UB's that were showing up. And, this was (y/n)'s first mission. She couldn't screw it up, right? After all, she is the champion. Could the champion really fail?

(y/n) watched, in horror, as Mimikyu fainted. (y/n) quickly brought her Mimikyu back, into the safety of its poke ball. (y/n) tried to bring out a max revive, hoping to bring her Bewear back, but, the tentacles of the UB knocked the max revive out of her hands. "That was my last max revive..." (y/n) said, now completely defenseless.

(y/n) tried running away, to try to keep her fainted and injured Pokémon safe. But, the UB was too fast, for the young champion. The UB grabbed (y/n), using its tentacles, and, brought (y/n) into the air. "Please, have mercy! You can take me! But, please, leave this world live!" (y/n) said, knowing that if she was going to die, she might as well die saving the world. The UB made a noise, that (y/n) couldn't decipher. (y/n) then felt a sharp pain through her head. A pain that she had never experienced before.

The UB then laid (y/n) on the ground. (y/n) was a bit shaken, but, was still conscious. She looked around, at her surroundings,in fear. When she saw the UB, she screamed, in pure terror. "W-What a-are y-you?!" The UB did nothing, but make strange noises. (y/n) shakily stood up,and, started running away. If only (y/n) knew how much this turn of events would affect the ones that she loved the most.

Thanks in advance (if you comment). There is something you should know, though. This follows the plot of the game, but, it doesn't follow it perfectly.
